The story behind
Catherine de Medici is often attributed with creating a new form of saddle, allowing women to ride sidesaddle more easily and no longer be reduced to following their companions on foot! Successive developments followed until the 20th century when women were allowed to use the classic harnesses of riders. Inspired by objects from the Émile Hermès collection and catalogs of the prestigious Camille Maison, located on Rue du Château-Landon in Paris, this scarf offers us an array of these precious harnesses.

My first Gattoni! I bought it for the wall but this may have been a mistake as it's so wearable. I love the aqua but it also folds to have a totally non-aqua look. I included a picture with L'Artisans so you can see the difference between Aqua and Ciel. And the green that looks so nice with Aqua is a pure copper oxide: very clean, very classy. Hope you're all staying safe

Thank you - it's my 'uniform'. I'm autistic so not having to think about what to wear helps manage my anxiety. This of course doesn't stop me shopping or being obsessed with fashion!

@MissSteph re: the bow picture above - I never wear scarves like this but because of the contrast between the aqua and the mauve hem I was moved to fold some accordian pleats and make a bow. I am looking forward to seeing how other people wear it.

Thank you also to all you kind scarfies who have posted kind comments. I think Hermes does important work (eg supporting young artists) and it's lovely to have a neutral, non-judgemental forum in which to discover ever more....

My La Danse see Amazones arrived today. It fills a gap in colors for me. One of the 2 or 3 I hope to acquire this season. (Excuse the lack of makeup and terrible tee. Just a few quick snaps between fedex and jumping back to work.)
