Ahh yes that was my top choice for cite but my store never got it in. When I saw the lime posted here and then in person I was sold. Not really sure what I’d pair it with of my current closet but there’s a new Beyoncé/ ivy park collection coming this week that features both the green and the brown so it’s a start if I can get my hands on any of it. (Yes I mix high street fashion and luxury goods all the time, don’t tell anyone). Here’s a quick pic from when I brought it home.

This is my top choice, too. Shawl twins! Mine shall arrive in the mail today or tomorrow. I don't think I had ever seen this lime green in any CWs of H cashmere shawls. Only on cashmere/silk, this lime screen can be this soft and beautiful. I can't wait to get mine, haha....

Wild Singapore is back on the H site in 05 (light pink) if anyone was still trying to track it down!

Thank you for the heads up. My original plan was to wait for one of the three green colorways to show up, but here we are in October and it looks like they will not be coming. My Wild Singapore arrived today, and I'm in love with this wonderful lion and his fauna and friends. I pulled out some of my clothes. and it looks like this scarf will integrate into my wardrobe just fine. Another Alice Shirley beauty for my collection.

Yay twins :drinks:. My SA said the same, that she couldn’t recall a cw like that in a shawl. Just need @k_alleycat2000 to nab hers and we got a party :)

Congrats RBH! I couldn’t resist the power of this fuschia hem myself. It’s a beauty and already right at home with your current wardrobe.

Welcome, relblum. I will kick off responses here, although you will probably get a lot of other replies.

First off, how lucky your MIL is to have you as a DIL! What a sweet thing to do for her. I too wear casual clothes, but love to pair H scarves with them. I am sure she will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

To your question about availability of styles in boutiques vs online - Yes, there is wider availability typically in boutiques than what you see on the website. Not all stores get all scarves in all colorways, and of course their inventory will depend on what they have sold that (or previous) seasons. And not all stores have everything that is online.

A few questions you may want to answer - what size will be most useful? 140 cm x 140 cm, as you know, is a shawl size. If your MIL is very petite, that can be a lot of fabric to manage. There is silk (some of these silk 140s feature lighter weight or "summer" silk), 70%cashmere/30%silk, and mousseline (which is kind of akin to the weight of chiffon). Sticking with women's scarves, the next is 90 cm x 90 cm, then 70 x 70 and then (quite small) 45 x45. Once you move beyond the 140s, scarves are typically 100% silk. (Occasionally you will find a wash silk, which has a somewhat softer feel than the traditional scarf).

Of course there are other less traditional formats like giant triangles (half a 140, which some people like because it is less fabric to manage), twillies and maxi-twillies as well.

In addition to size, fabric is a consideration. Some find silk can be a little slippery or stiff. Cashmere/silk is warmer and somewhat cozier than 100% silk. I find silk a little more resilient as it is a little less likely to be pulled or pill than the cashmere/silk mix.

The Plumes is a lovely choice - as you no doubt saw, not high contrast. There are some beautiful neutral colorways of Three Graces, if a giraffe print is of interest (both 90 silk and 140 csgm). Similarly, Jungle Love (leopards) 140 comes in some lovely neutral colorways. These provide a little more contrast and varied looks when tied depending on what part of the scarf you want to feature. There are other neutrals in recent seasons as well that may be available.

Are you near a boutique? If you intend to go in, do call and see if you can get an appointment. My boutique is not really taking walk-ins now.

I am sure others will have many more wonderful suggestions. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this! This is exactly the kind of insight I needed. And your eye is perfect---both Jungle Love and Three Graces are exactly along the lines I was thinking. I'm going to try to make an appointment and see in person if I think 140 is too large and whether I think she'll prefer lower or higher contrast.

Thank you!

See @Meta on page 96, #1427 for a list of the expected colorways for Wild Singapore. Some of them apparently have never been seen.
We all heard the rumors about the effect the pandemic would have on the seasons scarves. My SA told me she heard 20% of production was cancelled and that a number of their orders weren't being shipped.

I also read (not surprisingly) that scarf sales were way down (20.5%) this quarter (in great part because of lower travel retail, but I would expect also bc of the work from home environment).
