Any doggy people, please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe that in France a teckel is a type of ‘basset’ which is essentially a dog low to the ground.

The scarf is a ‘reissue’ of a scarf from nineteen fifty something so perhaps terminology was different. I hope there comes a day where a basset hound scarf is released but as a dachshund Mama, I’m very happy this is being offered as it was one of my grails!

From the french internet (I hope I translated it correctly into English): The teckel is a basset with characteristics which are different to other bassets. The teckel is smaller and therefore less heavy, the eyes are almond-shaped and smaller. - Hope that helps.

It is so cute, but yes, I will be super excited if ever the Basset basset scarf is released!

The story behind
The phaeton, named after the son of the solar deity in Greek mythology, is a horse-drawn vehicle that was popular in the late 18th century in France and England. Lightweight and easy to handle, it allowed the driver to move swiftly around town. Here, the designer Pierre Marie presents a rear perspective of the model in the Émile Hermès collection, with its large wheels and delicate painted decoration. Around the scarf, framed by harmonious curves, a pattern of palmettes recalls the rug in Émile Hermès' office, where this precious carriage is displayed.
