Thank you
@laurenad! I wasn't expecting this to pair so brilliantly with denim / blues, but I'm sold. The gray background "gris chine" is actually available on quite a few shawls, ususally in neutrals-rich low-contrast colorways. What I think is different about this one is the strong presence of corail, yellow, orchid/mauve. Provides a relatively high color contrast while keeping a relatively low light/dark contrast, so the vibe is colorful yet low-key.
Thank you
@Croisette7! This one could have gone either way, especially having heard some were finding it too grayed for comfort. It is indeed very muted, even for this gray-lover. Although, I certainly have my times of wanting maximum gray and this is great for that. I might not have been sold if that were the end of it though, because there are lots of gris chine scarves out there. What I'm delighted by is how it comes alive worn with clothes that provide either color contrast to the scarf colors (blues), or light/dark contrast (something much paler or deeper than the scarf's gray - so far I've tried navy, deep charcoal, white). And bonus - this color combo is utterly different from anything in my wardrobe, yet somehow magically compatible with much of it. Wow, that's a lot of thought for a quick day-of-unboxing tryon, but there you have it.
Oh, you need a denim shirt
@HermesHope! I'm thrilled to be twins with you. I had been thinking about this CW first thing in the season, then it dropped lower, and finally off my list as mod shots of other designs rolled into this thread. Then I saw you photos here, and I couldn't hit the purchase button fast enough! Thank you for the expert enabling!
Thank you
@MAGJES. My initial hesitation was from realizing I own 4 CSGMs and 3 of them are gris chine background. They *are* great with my coloring, but did I really need another gris chine? How about a bright? Or a dark? When I said aside the "shoulds" and thought about what I really wanted this particular season, the vision that came to mind was something cozy-gray (but colorful somehow) to snuggle up and read in, on a cold day. Et voila.
