So it appears I won’t be getting one of my scarves. I opted for ground delivery and was not given a tracking number by the store. The delivery was attempted today while I was at work (I missed it by 15 min!) and so I planned to drive to Fed Ex in the evening and pick it up like I have so many times in the past for luxury items.
Only, this particular store has a policy of disallowing pick ups - even from a Fed Ex hub - and it can ONLY be delivered to your house and signed for at that address. No pick ups, no rerouting, no changes to the shipment whatsoever - even at the customer’s request. I have to work every day so being home from 8-5 is not an option.
After spending a half hour on the phone with the store, I was advised there could be no change/alteration to the shipment and that my ONLY two options are to either miss work and sit and wait for delivery or wait for the multiple delivery attempts after which the package is returned to their store, and have my money refunded. Sadly, the latter is my only real option.
I’ve ordered from other locations before (just received one yesterday for pick up at the FedEx hub) and have not run into this extreme shipping restriction. Not only will I not get my scarf, it’s a huge waste of money and resources to have multiple delivery attempts, return shipping costs, adding it back to inventory, etc.
