Authenticate This Missoni

I actually purchased one of the Missoni bags with the fake leather handles on Ebay. I complained to the seller stating that I thought it was a fake and why. He swears he bought a few from Loehmann's and that if you buy items from there they are authentic. Hmmm.....

i saw them myself at Loehmans too. M Missoni is a lower end label of the fashion house

filenes basement had some very REAL but cheap looking M Missoni, plastic not real leather... so I hope we have not falsely accused the seller :oh:

Please notice that those Missoni bags we are talking about look different from the current M Missoni brand sold everywhere else. Look at the tags. I have always been confused about it. I used to see this type of " M Missoni" long time ago and Daffy's a few years back. Is this the older version on the current M Missoni tag?

sorry, i never asked anyone at loehmann's about the M Missoni bags' authenticity, but i felt so uncomfortable w/the cheap seeming materials' 'quality' (e.g. plastic-y pvc handles; plus i'd just missed the extra ??% off purple clearance tags) that i returned the bag (~$6x.xx?) i didn't even care if they had another additional ??% off the purple clearance tags sale again & the bag ended up only like $2x.xx...

Hello, I recently sold a Missoni bag to a customer, white with the silver holographic circles (something like that), it has the M Missoni tag, not leather. But the problem at hand is that the bags are tagged inside saying made from china. I read somewhere that only the leather bags were made in Italy and the other bags were outsourced to China. Is this true? Can someone please provide me with information as to why the bags are labeled with this. Thank you. :D

Here are some pics of a similar bag that I have.

what is your source? do you know it is reliable? I would not be surprised if M Missoni bags are made in china. It is not the highest of the Missoni lines.

Well I don't mind posting my source for that lot that I got, so here it is:

http://www.brandsdistribution.com/CMS.do?cms_code=homepage

I sent them an email a while ago and they gave me the reason why, but I can't find the email so I'm waiting for a reply again.

I think they said that only the leather bags are made in Italy and any PVC is done in China because Italian regulations prevent the production of PVC bags there due to a health issue or something.

I just bought this bag at a local liquidation store; it was marked "Designer," and I paid $103 for it - but is it a fake? One of the inside labels is even blank; no embossed logo, no logo plate ... nada. It appears to be 100% pvc. Does Missoni make a cheaper line of bags?

I just liked the look of the bag, but if it's a fake, I certainly don't want to pay a hundred bucks for it. The store of purchase will also not offer a credit card refund, only store credit, so if it's a fake, should I raise a stink?

Thank you in advance, Purse Forum!!!!

i believe it is real. M Missoni bags always seem to look and feel cheap like that, sorry.

M Missoni is the cheaper line of bags. M Missoni is not same as the main high-end line, Missoni, with the orange label.

Here is the link on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3818420&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_578wt_881

It looks like a very inexpensive poorly constructed bag but I am not at all familiar with Missoni. It arrived with scuffs, scratches, and a bend on the bottom even though it was listed as BN. It really does not look like a HE purse so I am questioning the authenticity but like I said am a very inexperienced purse collector.

What do you all think?

Thanks so much in advance :)

I do not have an item name or link. I bought the bag at a charity sale because the leather was really good quality and then noticed to brand later.

Please let me know if more pictures are need.

Thanks in advance.
