hey everyone.
i picked up this MCM bag today at a thrift store. i hadn't heard of the brand before i looked it up but as i assumed by looking at it, they are nice bags. from the research i've done, i have many reasons to believe that this is real but again, i've never owned one and don't know too much about them still. hopefully from the pictures i have provided you can get a good idea. i'm still going to clean this bag up.. just want to get your opinion before i put in the effort.

Hi Alissa,
It looks very real to me. About 20-15 years ago I've bought many different pieces of MCM, including luggage, purse, wallets, belts, you name it. Most of them in coqniac color, but few in black. The travel beauty case has the same M+4 numbers label, and all pics you provided look real to me. Go ahead, clean it up (actually, I'd appreciate very much if you could tell me HOW do you clean it) and enjoy. The quality is amazing, all my pieces are in great shape after so many years!

I worked at an MCM store 15 years ago. Your bag looks authentic. I compared it to a few of my own which I bought at the store while I worked there. If my memory serves me well, your bag looks like the same style as the Stacy Camera Case in the monogram fabric. I don't remember the name of the all leather bag, although there is a good chance that it was the same and is also called the stacy. Hope this helps.

Hello there!!!*I wish you could help me!!! I have several questions!!!*

I recently bought a MCM handbag from e-bay and the size listed and the actual size is off & I don't think it's authentic!!!*

It is listed as authentic, however the serial number that is embossed on the brass plate is off (there is large gap between numbers it has one alphabet & 4 numbers there is a large gap between between the 3rd & 4th number) & do not match serial number on the patch inside the bag...*Does real MCM has numbers on the leather patch inside the purse?

The embossing on the leather patch inside the bag is poorly done... It is not clear & the needle work is poorly done as well. The leather patch inside this bag has the logo & Made in Germany & some serial number on it that does not match the serial number found on the brass plate in front of the bag!!! MCM handbags comes with leather patch or brass plate that says MCM Designed by Michael Cromer Handmade inside the bag & this one doesn't!

Several MCM handbags that I own has leather patch with diamond embossed on 4 corners of the patch & I have the one with brass plate inside the bag with the logo embossed on it with Designed by Michael Cromer(signature type) embossed on it as well.

The lock that came with the bag was corroded & doesn't fit smoothly & I had to jab the key in hard for it to work & all the zippers are really stiff on this bag...*
