And no, not all bags have riri zippers, mostly the classic soft calf lines will have the riris, and Lampos are on more seasonal bags, such as the Quinns, some of the quilted lines. MJ also used both Lampo zippers, upper caps for some older styles and for the new clutches, but mostly the lighting Lampo on the others. I believe stams have the riri zippers.
Rounded head riris are being used in fake bags so beware. Look for other details as well, and make sure the zipper brand corresponds to the correct style bag.MissusB said:I have an Acorn Venetia from a season or two ago that has the Lampo "lightning bolt" zipper...I previously thought that all Venetias had the riri zippers, but chic.bags helped me authenticate my Venetia when I bought it, so I know this is an exception to the rule.
However, I'm now confused about Lampo zippers...even though many of the fakes are now using the lightning bolt Lampos, I always believed that the Lampo zippers without the bolt and the "LAMPO" all in those strange caps were FAKE! Is this not the case?
I have also assumed the all of the riri zippers with the rounded heads and the correct font were real, and thus the bag was real as well...can someone clarify this for me? Are the actual riri zippers being counterfeited, or being used on counterfeits?
Gotta know this stuff! Thanks~
Kim
From what I can tell, it does indeed look authentic, although the watermarkings everywhere. I would get more photos of the interior, the zipperhead, and the black fabric tag inside the interior zip pocket. The price is reasonable, those bags were on sale last in dept stores for as low as $360.LadyFran said:Hello ladies...interested in a Marc Jacobs but the stam was too heavy for me. I love the look though. Saw the banana quilted hobo on sale at Bloomingdales but really like this style, but have only found it in white on the vendor websites. Is this authentic?

Also, if anyone owns this bag, how is this weight wise in comparison to the stam? Thanks in advance.

The upper cap LAMPO has been used by MJ. Several members have authentic bags with this Lampo zip, and others have confirmed that the new clutches have the this lampo zip as well. Fake bags have also been using Lampo zips so pay attention to other details as well.

Kind of doesn't seem like it, but I'm a newbie to MJ so not sure.
