I really want the Emerald (?) Blake (I've asked the seller for more pics now), the yellow bag (trying to convince the seller to send it to me, but she doesn't usually send overseas so let's keep our fingers crossed..) and the black quilted satchel. So if anyone has any opinions, please let me know! :)

What color is that "Quilted Ursula Bowler 2"? Is it the 'Mouse' color? I haven't seen it irl so I don't know what it really looks like. I hope it's more brown than grey, but I can't really tell in pics. I found one on some website that sells it and to me it's a weird color. It should either be lighter or darker, it seems in between and undecided..or something. ;)

I am still pretty new to this forum - and have actually never been on this thread yet. :p But, I would like some opinions from whoever can help. I saw this on ebay - as I really want a stam bag & am pretty positive it's fake, but want to dbl check!

Also, MJ bags all have RIRI zippers, right? Not lampo like bbags! Down @ the bottom where they have posted questions - someone asked this & they said it has lampo zips :nuts:

The only one that is definitely fake to me is the black quilted hobo. The patent is too smooth. The ursula bowler looks to be the bronze color, I think it was released earlier this year. More brown/goldish color. As for the black stella, I would definitely ask for more photos, it looks a bit fishy from the hardware, I'd want to see the "made in italy" tag, the riri on the back of the zipperhead and at the end/stopper of the zipper from both sides(top and bottom).

The yellow bag is just too cute! go for it!

Absolutely not! That auction has photos taken from several different auctions. If you notice, the photos don't even show the same style bag or leather texture. I would run!

And no, not all bags have riri zippers, mostly the classic soft calf lines will have the riris, and Lampos are on more seasonal bags, such as the Quinns, some of the quilted lines. MJ also used both Lampo zippers, upper caps for some older styles and for the new clutches, but mostly the lighting Lampo on the others. I believe stams have the riri zippers.

first one-fake, color wrong
Blake-I think it's real. I asked the seller for close-up pics two days ago and still waiting
third one-no idea, sorry
Satchel-leather is way too shiny and smooth based on that fake, unless other picsare provided
Stella-pics suck. Need better, clear ones
Ursula Bowler 2-color is right and bag looks real to me. I think the color is bronze due to the metallic sheen
Yellow purse-real

2. Emerald Blake: Authentic. The green suede lining is correct, faked Emerald styles come with red linings.
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs: ???
4. Ursula Hobo: Definitely Fake!
5. Stella: ???
6. Bronze Bowler: Recommend getting it from net-a-porter, it's currently on sale.
7. Yellow Cammie: Real

Hi everyone, could you please tell me if this is authentic? It's pretty reasonable pricewise so I'm curious. Also it only says Marc Jacobs on the metal tag while other Blakes have Made in Italy on it too. Would this be an older version since it's on the suede? Thank you!

Hi there mas2388! Now I am not a pro, like most of these other ladies - but I will give you my opinion. :shrugs: That silver tag inside is all wrong. It should say made in Italy & the font is all wrong. Here's a pic from the tag inside my daria...

hey girl! thnx for the reply! ;) Now, I cannot see these pics very well. My monitor is almost shot. The color & brightness are really bad, so I don't get that from the pics - that more than one bag was used & the leather. :shrugs: I was pretty positive that it was a fake anyway.

So, about the zippers - this one - the Stam should have RIRI then? What about the Daria?

Hey - do you happen to know if there is more than one style of the Stan? Different sizes or styles

vistapop: i think that green m by mj satchel is real. As for the plastic wrappings around the handles, i remember one lady at tfs said that she even saw auth. bags shipped that way at the dept. store.

one little rule of thumb in quickly judging if a bag is fake or not: fake manufacterers like to make the "it" purses that celebs are caught carrying cause the general public likes to emulate celebs. :rolleyes: Some examples are the mj stam carried by lilo,et.al, bowler carried by mischa and selma, etc, etc. That saying, I think this auction should be ok. :smile1:

I still have no idea about authenticity about the green bag but you brought up an excellent point re: plastic on handles.

In this case it is ok because it seems to just be holding the handles together. Plastic on the entire handles raises red flags though. I've never, ever seen an MJ bag on the shelf like that and even shipped by Elux:shrugs:. If anyone has experienced otherwise lmk.

On MJ bags you'll find plastic on the metal pieces to prevent scratching and most of the chains on chain handle bags come wrapped in plastic
