I emailed the seller about the avocado sophia for a photo of the zipper a while back, and this was the response:

Hello,

It doesn't have any merkings under zipper. This bag is old seasoned. Bakc then Marc Jacobs wan't putting RIRI or anything else. THE Bag comes as you see it on the pictures

Best regards .

This is unacceptable to me. I, personally, would not bid on any of this seller's bags.

Hi ,
I am new here and if I am in the wrong area please accept my apologies. I have a Marc Jacobs Sophia bag that has Lampo zippers, it this possible?

Thank you in advance.
Welcome, and yes, this is the correct area to ask this question. As far as I know, Sophias never came with Lampo zippers, only riri. But perhaps some other members can confirm?

This was a response I received from an ebay seller abt this item:

Auth MARC JACOBS Multi-Pocket Leather Bag Spearmint

Item number: 300013620098

Sorry, I'm not taking anymore pictures than what is posted to the auction. I've been selling for over 7 years with 4000 feedbacks. Item is 100% authentic. End of story. Thank You.

What do you think of that response?????????? Needless to say, although at first glance the bag looks authentic, I will not be bidding on it.

I can see two sides to the reply:

1) It's authentic, she only sells authentic and resents the slezoids on eBay selling junk fakes as much as we do, so she is annoyed when people question her honesty.

2) It's a fake and, as Shakespere said: "Me thinks she doth protest too much."

Tough call. I know I'd get testy about authenticity questions if I were in her shoes and only sold the real deal. I guess the only thing that would sway me in her favor is she accepts authenticity based returns.

Moral of the story: These scammers are ruining eBay for everyone, buyer and seller alike.

Edit note: OK, I wouldn't do business with her, real or authentic. I have MAJOR ISSUES with people that resort to name calling in their feedback. Check this:

She has some quite a few negative and neutral feedback and I went into toolhaus.org to check it out. Seems like she has a history of not being very polite. I would not buy from her either. There is no reason for her to be rude to you. You want to make sure you are getting exactly what you are paying for. Sorry that happened!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I know that sellers can get annoyed with ppl wanting additional info b/c of unscrupulous ebayers, still, the advice on this board has always been beware of sellers who won't provide additional info, so that's what I do.

^ I'm a seller and I'd NEVER refuse more photos.
I mean, you are buying an item FROM A SCREEN!! You want to see it!!
Ha! Oh well, sellers loss.
Sorry she was rude, some people aren't cut out for socializing with other human beings....

No response is a bad sign. Just revisited the listing, the feedback comments are Private. Is this a common practice? What's there to hide?
