First of all, it doesn't matter to me whether or not you're a TPF member or not. When people post links for authentication, I authenticate from the photos alone and am not swayed by my decision based on whether or not the person is a member of TPF.

The reason why I believe it is fake is because this style of Turnlock Zip Clutches only came out starting Spring 2008. The hardware that is on this particular clutch is from Spring 2007. Moreover, the only colors that this zip clutch came out in are Grass, Midnight, Earth (in shiny gold hardware) and the new Cranberry and Black (in silver hardware). The zip clutch in the auction in question does not fall into either category.

While I agree that "careful participation" is key, unlike you, I do not sell any Marc Jacobs or Marc by Marc Jacobs products. I only give my opinion to items where I am sure whether or not it is real or fake. Other times, I suggest potential buyers to request additional photos or information because I simply cannot give a definite answer based on the photos that are provided. I would never post anything that I am not 100% sure about.

I would be interested to know where you obtained this clutch from and if you still feel that I am accusing you of selling a fake zip clutch, I would love to see additional photos that prove otherwise.

ETA: If members on TPF feel that I am not "qualified" enough per se to authenticate Marc by Marc Jacobs items, I will gladly pass on the torch to you and withdraw from authenticating any more items. I would not want to compromise the integrity of the "Authenticate This" forum if members here do not trust or believe in my opinion.

Telicious you are a wonderful authenticator. Tons of people are very grateful for your help and expertise. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :hugs:

Well, this item came from Pinchrosemary and it is authentic.

You already posted and you are saying that you never post unless you are 100% sure?

I'm not sure what you are refering to, but yes, I can safely say that I do not post that it's real or fake unless I'm 100% sure. If I am not sure, I always ask potential buyers to request additional information or photos.

I don't know who Pinchrosemary is, but do you know where this seller got the clutch from?

ETA: If members on TPF feel that I am not "qualified" enough per se to authenticate Marc by Marc Jacobs items, I will gladly pass on the torch to you and withdraw from authenticating any more items. I only started to authenticate Marc by Marc Jacobs items because I felt that alot of answers from members got unanswered for these items. I would not want to compromise the integrity of the "Authenticate This" forum if members here do not trust or believe in my opinion.

Oh no, please don't stop authenticating! You are really good, and I personally trust you 100% :flowers:

I have no doubt of your expertise and it is appreciated. You have authenticated many of my items before. This was not an attack of any kind, I would just like to get to the bottom of this and your information regarding this particular item. Again, I know many people, myself included appreciate your hard work. I would also like to PM you some additional information on the colors and styles along with links additional photos.

Can I PM you? I tried, but it just says you're offline.

Moreover, the design of this zip clutch is made to look like a Spring 2008 clutch when clearly, the hardware is completely wrong.

I appreciate all of your help with this. I was wondering about the gold hardware too, which is part of why I posted (I don't know enough to know if it ever came with it on the black). I've requested the additional info from the seller but haven't heard back yet.

What are the chances of this being real? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220261651461&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
The starting price is very low, with no reserve and a zero feedback seller. Here is a picture of the nameplate the buyer sent me

Mmm - this is interesting as I just saw one IRL at the Nordies in San Francisco- This could either be the really cool ACTUAL runway bag, (Hey - they have to go somewhere ...) or a very good fake.

The one at Nordies was this color combo, but did not have leather lining NOR did it have the gold "B", so this is not the same bag as available for retail here in the states. -Has anyone else seen one at Nordies? - I didn't know it was even in their inventory!

That said, the leather color, quality, sequin bag looks identical to what I saw this past weekend.

I'm getting a little fed up right now. I'm looking at this auction: 150276620682

I know she says not to email her regarding authenticity, but how can you tell from that one picture?

So I contacted the seller and asked her for pics of the zipper heads, name plate and serial tag.

She replies to me and says "Here are the additional pica.Guaranteeted authentic. All markings are correct. Riri zippers.Thanks."
Here are the pictures:

:confused1:

I then reply saying thanks and ask her for the pics again.

She sends me these:

and says:

"Here are the other pics. Couldn't find a serial number in the bag. The last time, it is authentic. Check my feedback for other designer bags.
Thanks for looking."

:confused1: It looks OK to me, but I can't tell if anything is written on the zippers.
