Hmmm... It can happen :shrugs: My experience with this seller is with COACH bags and she is HIGHLY respected in the COACH forum... Might be worth contacting and asking more details about it... where it came from. I am really surprised about this and I am sure she would want to know about it since there appears to be doubts as to it being authentic.

I even did a search to see what came up...

http://forum.purseblog.com/search.php?searchid=5338034

I understand what you mean, I would be interested to know where she got it from too. It seems like the other stuff she's selling (the other MJ) was authenticated and posted in the Deals forum already.

Hmm... I don't know why the search isn't working for me. What was that link for?

The link didn't work for me either. I'll let her know and ask for more details. This zip clutch would complement my new camouflage teri I just got from pursemonkey so nicely!

I believe this is fake
The inside nameplate looks too messy to me, among many things that look wrong.

Hello,

As a participating member of this forum including authentications, I would like to ask where do you see a messy logo and what exactly are those other things you are referring to? I see a slight shadow from the flash over the logo but what other things do you see that made you so quick to judge. Please be specific. Perhaps additional photos other than all of the close-ups posted on the listing can help.

I participate in authenticating on tPF a lot. I sell a lot of Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Much of my authenticating is done through the private messaging format here due to possible conflicts of interest (selling the same style or brand) but I feel "careful" participation is important. I also always recommend that my customers come here and I offer preferential treatment to those who post here because I know it's a lot of work. It does a lot of good. But, it can also do a lot of harm too.

The logo on this wallet is nice and straight, not messy. I know where it came from too. So if you want to see more photos here, ask, I'll be happy to provide them, but please be careful when making an accusation on a fellow tPF.

Actually, I just looked at it and I think it's in better shape than she has it mentioned.

First of all, it doesn't matter to me whether or not you're a TPF member or not. When people post links for authentication, I authenticate from the photos alone and am not swayed by my decision based on whether or not the person is a member of TPF.

The reason why I believe it is fake is because this style of Turnlock Zip Clutches only came out starting Spring 2008. The hardware that is on this particular clutch is from Spring 2007. Moreover, the only colors that this zip clutch came out in are Grass, Midnight, Earth (in shiny gold hardware) and the new Cranberry and Black (in silver hardware). The zip clutch in the auction in question does not fall into either category. Moreover, the design of this zip clutch is made to look like a Spring 2008 clutch when clearly, the hardware is completely wrong.

While I agree that "careful participation" is key, unlike you, I do not sell any Marc Jacobs or Marc by Marc Jacobs products. I only give my opinion to items where I am sure whether or not it is real or fake. Other times, I suggest potential buyers to request additional photos or information because I simply cannot give a definite answer based on the photos that are provided. I would never post anything that I am not 100% sure about.

I would be interested to know where you obtained this clutch from and if you still feel that I am accusing you of selling a fake zip clutch, I would love to see additional photos that prove otherwise.

ETA: If members on TPF feel that I am not "qualified" enough per se to authenticate Marc by Marc Jacobs items, I will gladly pass on the torch to you and withdraw from authenticating any more items. I only started to authenticate Marc by Marc Jacobs items because I felt that alot of answers from members got unanswered for these items. I would not want to compromise the integrity of the "Authenticate This" forum if members here do not trust or believe in my opinion.

Well, this item came from Pinchrosemary and it is authentic.

You already posted and you are saying that you never post unless you are 100% sure?
