Just a question to the group as we investigate aitienadog 's bags purchased from jsisme2002... Has anyone ever seen a fake MJ with RIRI zipperhead rounded and shaped correctly? I thought that was one of the key telling signs of whether something was real or not... (in addition to the interior material and coloring, etc.) With most of the fakes I have seen, that is one of the biggest giveaways...

Aitienadog: I didn't look too closely at your pictures, but the prices are not totally impossible. Julia is from Resort 2005 Collection (stores are currently getting items from Resort 06), therefore, it's marked down a few months ago (to $500 or less) at all major retailers including Nordstrom, Neimans, Saks, etc. As for Venetia, department stores often mark down discounted colors to make room for newer items; leftovers are sent to outlets such as Off Saks, Nordstrom Rack, NM Last Call. I suggest doing these about the color Hazelnut: (1) call Marc Jacobs store, ask whether there's any soft calf style in Hazelnut (2) start a thread in MJ forum asking members here as well. We have many members who are MJ fans for years -- they are very familiar with MJ styles/colors.

Plus, I will get back on the tag & zipper in a bit.

Morvern Callar: The seller didn't post enough/good pictures of Hudson. From your pictures, I agree with others that the bag looks good. I'm so concerned because the seller has too many current bags (not only MJ's) at unbelievable prices. Hudson's a popular style for Fall 2006......

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm losing focus by looking into the seller's previous items. I am really against sellers who knowingly sell fakes as authentic items; mixing fakes with real ones are no-no as well.

^ I won't be a bit surprised if Hazelnut was made for soft calf styles b/c it was made for quilted styles in Resort 2005. If I have time tomorrow, I will stop by Nordstrom (hit traffic on the way there this afternoon, so I turned around & went home) to check out their previous MJ look books. Will keep my eyes on Soft Calf styles in Hazelnut for you -- I have to hunt down this color! =)

When you start the thread in MJ forum, word it so that it's primarily about the existence of this color. Don't mention about authentication, otherwise, the thread will get closed and/or moved in here. Authenticating questions are only allowed in this thread, direct members to here for further details.

Now I'm not really sure if the Julia is even real even w/ the tag. On Eluxery site, there's an alternative view of the bag (the 1st one) shooting down from above, there's 2 round screws right below the middle of the zipper . Do you see them? Mine doesn't have them and neither did the one thithi post a while back. Please compare mine w/ the one from Eluxery below and tell me what you think. Who else has a JUlia out there?

There are several Julia & Diane (tote version of Julia) owners here, search in the MJ forum. I remember reading about their purchases from Nordies, NM/BG, etc. Either send them PM or start a thread titled like "Diane/Julia owners - help!", ask them to confirm the details. If necessary, direct them here.

I'm sorry, ebay purchases can be quite stressful at times. Hugs~

When I searched the forum, the Julia photos that I saw didn't have the two studs on outer lip of the zipper... I agree with bag.lover, pm a Julia owner and ask if theirs has the studs.

I have seen fake bags with the correct zipperheads, thankfully, there were other signs that gave it away, such as shape, color and stitching. The Classic styles have been out for a long time so the fakes keep getting better and better.

Bag Lover, thanks for all your help. I can't wait till you have the answer for me. I've been losing sleep...I will go down to the stores tomorrow and see if I can find the answer. I guess I better pay full price at the stores then going through this headache to save a couple of hundreds. It's not even worth it.

Here's a Venetia that I believe is fake because of the shape. But the seller has the correct zipper!

Hi there, you are both amazing! Thanks for all your energies on us newbies' behalf -- it is truly above and beyond.

I have seen fake MJ's with rounded riri zipperheads. I bought one off ebay (a brown Sophia) and even had it authenticated at a Marc Jacobs boutique, but it turned out to be totally fake. I got my money back, but from then on I swore off ebay forever.

So I guess the consensus is that my Hudson is real? I can't see a single difference, and I've been staring at those classygirl pictures all night. The hardware, the way the leather crinkles, even areas with slightly funky stitching all match. Does anyone see any discrepancies or am I safe?

Aitienadog, I have my fingers crossed for you x1000 for the Julia.
