THANK YOU .. yes, I was disappointed but that is much better than feeling like I got something other than an authentic bag. I just sometimes get nervous when I buy from NY. I've been in the BACK ROOMS of the sidewalk sellers. Very convincing bags. more than replicas, I would call them Counterfeit because they can be so exact.

I edited my post a little after checking the zipper pull, and mine are the same. Glad to help! Not everyone loves the unfinished edges of the Dylan line but it is as they should be.

I don't think LP's have been faked, I've seen cheaper no-name brands copy the designs but I haven't ever seen a fake that had the LP logo on it. Also, the seller you purchased from has a good reputation on Ebay so that may be some reassurance.

You might want to take a look at the reference thread to get an idea of what the Dylan line looks like, vs the Alex bags, etc. Personally I think they are of excellent quality and their leather is so wonderful squishy soft. If you're looking for a more 'polished' look though LP may not be for you.

The problem wasn't "is it fake" as much as I don't like it. Whether it is or is not a fake, it still smells horrible and feels sort of sticky. Seller doesn't want to give a refund, just store credit. Pretty much all she sells are Linea Pelle. I need to be more careful .. maybe see a bag in person before buying.

I've been in your shoes, seller had a return policy but only for store credit, and she had about 8 bags for sale and none of them appealed to me. I ended up selling it myself on Ebay but for less. Live and learn!

ETA: This seller has the Botkier bags in pearlized gray, I made her an offer for the Ava crossbody which she counted at $275, though I declined. Any interest there?

I think I will ask eBay to help me. I have listed items with NO RETURN and eBay over ruled me .. I even said, 'what's the point of having a return policy.' they say they just want to keep the peace. My experience is they lean toward making the customer happy.

I don't know how a person can shop for a purse without seeing one in person first. EXAMPLE: I love the leather on the Chloe Paddington and nothing seems to compare to it for me ..

Well if you're like me and you live in a rural area seeing it first isn't an opportunity, so it's best to shop somewhere that you can return. I know LP leather is a sure thing for me so I'm ok shopping on Ebay for it, I wouldn't want to try a brand for the first time via an Ebay sale though.

You may have a tough time winning a SNAD case because your seller posted lots of pics and she will offering you a return, but for store credit. Good luck with whatever you decide but I do feel for your seller since she did nothing wrong.

I know she did nothing wrong and if the leather wasn't sticky and stinky I would keep it .. I am curious though as to why in all her feedback, all the items are 'private.' I have seen that with VERY EXPENSIVE coins .. were all her sales maybe out of the USA?

I don't think it's a big deal if her items are private, as long as her feedback is public. LP leather has a wonderful smell, 'stinky' may be subjective. As for stickiness, was this all over the bag, in certain spots? Did you ask the seller about it? That's puzzling.

Most leather has a wonderful smell .. but this bag doesn't smell like most leather. Maybe that smell will go away.

Perhaps "sticky" isn't the right word. Tacky is probably better. Do you know the stuff used in offices that you wipe your fingers across when handling a lot of paper? That's the feeling. Maybe that will go away too.

I did a buy it now and paid IMMEDIATELY, she didn't realize that I did and she offered me a discount the bag OFF eBay. Told me to send her another payment and she would refund the first full price one. It made me nervous. I didn't want a stranger to have 2 payments in case something went wrong. Even though she offered to discount the bag and shipping by $50, I wanted this sale to go through eBay ..

Whatever .....

Hmmmm maybe it's been treated with something and that's why if has a tackiness and odd smell. It's good you went through EBay, you'll have a better chance of winning a dispute. Good luck!
