Hallo!
Maybe somebody could help me. Today I received the scarf "Caparacons de la France et de l'Inde" I just bought on ebay. Due to the sellers description the scarf was issued in 1959. Now I have this beautiful scarf in front of me and I am not sure if it is authentic. I can't find a signature or the copyright! I think I heard that older scarfs might not have a copyright on them. But a scarf without a the signature? :nogood:

Thank you in advance for your help!

Unfortunately I can't upload more than one picture at the same time. I will try to upload more pictures.
The pictures are upside down. For info. depending on the issue the LEDOUX signature might be above or in the tress of the fringe in the bottom right hand quadrant (opposite side of Hermès-Paris).

P.S. Looking at the original listing, your scarf looks like it might have 'CNEP' in the bottom centre medallion, making it a special issue (the Comptoir National d'Escompte de Paris (CNEP) celebrated its centenary in India in 1960 for instance, although maybe someone here knows precisely on what occasion it would have been issued).

Hallo lemur178!

Many thanks for helping me! Now I am a little bit more relaxed as it seems that the scarf is not a fake. You are right that there is "CNEP" in the centre medallion. I checked the scarf several times but I still can't find the signature. There is non in the right corner opposite the "Hermes - Paris".
Sorry that the pictures were upside down. I made the pictures with the iPad and they seemed to be ok.

Thanks again for the feedback. They are asking $200 for the scarf and I didn't know if that was a good price considering the care tag is missing. This will be my first H scarf.

Any idea of the name of the scarf or age?

Happy Fourth, ladies!
I am very interested in this shawl, it looks very good to me, and was ready to buy but somehow the box that comes with it throw me off. It made me question the scarf now..... :wondering Does it look legit to you? The seller doesnt seem to know much about H scarves. Thanks so much!

Would love to have more pics. From the few meaningful photos, the item looks authentic, just the colors are a bit off. As written on the store inventory tag, the scarf is IRL a warm dark orange (on my screen it appears red).
And true: the box does not belong to this shawl and the seller has no clue about H scarves.
It is a lovely piece and if condition is as described, a steal!

Thanks a bunch, DDC! Grey is my first choice of this design, but I cannot pass this bargain. Besides, I do love orange:D
