All,
I saw a vintage “Hermes?” Carnavale de Venice 90 cm at an estate sale. The reverse side had very thin black line running immediately alongside the hem. It looked like a guideline on a paper sewing pattern. The hem was rolled correctly toward the right side. Have any of you seen anything like this? I’m wondering if the scarf is legit. Also, the care tag is sewn in upside down. Hems look a bit sloppy for “Hermes.” But then, it’s said to be original 1992 issue.
Thank you all for helping me.

Hi! Hoping someone can help me authenticate this springs scarf. Thanks so much.

Item: Hermes Scarf Carre 90 'Springs' by Philippe LeDoux
Listing : n/a
Seller: near333

Looks good
(For what it’s worth: this design usually sells for significantly less than this list price - even earlier issues. Though this cw doesn’t come up often, so there’s that to consider)

I have the black line on a vintage TORANA, which is a real one but poorly hemed. If you can live with it,
it is your decision.

I’m curious to see this phenom’; would you consider sharing a pic -at your convenience- over in the vintage thread?
Croisette,
Thank you so much; you’re a wealth of knowledge. I had never even heard of the black line before. The overall condition of the scarf was poor, so I decided to skip it. It’s sad to see what was once so beautiful end up so mistreated.

Hello,

I would like to purchase this scarf. Appreciate someone could help to authentic this scarf for me. Thank you very much.

Thanks for posting Croisette, I’ve never seen that before.... Since it’s your scarf the authenticity is not in question, but in any other scenario I’d have assumed (wrongly it turns out) that it was a red flag. You learn something new every day! TPF is educational as well as enabling
I'm not an expert but I have scarfs from the boutique with the same "hem marker" that presumably serves as a hemming line - a recent example is my 90 silk Sous L'Eguide de Mars in orange which has a silver grey line demarking the orange hem with a slightly different orange coloured border. It is guide line is quite visible on the "wrong" side of the scarf .

Hi i hope i am doing this correctly!
Is this authentic & why is the price so high?
