Good evening, I would be very grateful for your help with authenticating this "La France” scarf which is supposed to be a 1959 edition (unless there was a reissue).

Item: Hermes La France 90 cm Silk Scarf
Listing Number: N/A
Seller: nour1315
Link: https://www.vinted.fr/femmes/foulards/587026243-magnifique-foulard

Comments: I already asked the seller and the care tag is no longer present, but here are a few photos I saved (Happy to remove them if I should not have included them). The seller feedback is excellent (not necessarily Hermes-related). Many thanks in advance (and stay safe)!

Hi all, I just snagged a Zebra Pegasus gavroche in a nice somber navy from Fashionphile, and while I'm overall quite happy with it, the coloration seems to be a a little different from what I expected; I suspect this is another example of the difficulties of getting colors to register true to life rather than an authenticity issue (everything else looks good), but I thought I'd double check. After checking the archives here, it doesn't seem to have been a very popular cw when it was released; however, if any of you do have this piece and can verify what I'm observing before I remove the tags, I'd really appreciate the assistance.

I believe the official colorway is cw11, anthracite/noir/marine. In doing my research before purchasing and trying to triangulate what the actual colors would be, I thought that the large sections of the wings would be a very deep reddish/purplish gray, like this defunct ebay post might lead you to conclude:
eBay-prior sale

When my scarf arrived, it turned out to be a very neutral carbon gray; I've adjusted the colors in my photo to get as close to real as I can. Again, this isn't a problem, just a matter of double-checking that everything still passes muster. FWIW, I can adjust the other way and make the gray parts read reddish, so I am leaning towards this being technology issue and not an authenticity issue.

If you made it this far, thank you! I know it's a very minor question, and I do appreciate any help you all may have.

I think it is a lighting issue. Did you photograph indoors with basic lighting? Try taking it to some natural bright (but not overly sunny) lighting. These deep shades are problematic to photograph. My C'est la Fete in Kaki has similar issues with photography.

I agree. I photographed it in a room with lots of sun (so shadows were actually a bit of an issue), and I'd say my photos are pretty true to life. I can definitely see how other photos could skew red, though; if I didn't activiely pick a specific point for the camera to focus/color balance on, it would make those wing patches maroon as well (while simultaneously completely throwing off the blues to boot).

In the end, I kept it. It's past the return window now, anyways, so it's a moot point!

I think this is safe.

Hi. I literally just bought this from France two weeks ago lol. Crazy Coincidence given its rarity in market. In my opinion based on my owning this now, I say it is authentic. And yes only one issue. Françoise de la Perrière in 1959.
Thank you, I bought it today! I have a theory about certain models « resurfacing » almost at the same time (there are another two in the same colourway, but way more expensive, on eBay France and a blue one) - as if a sort of collective unconsciousness brings them up for sale on the same « wave ». La mare aux canards is another one at the moment. Mind you, it may be that once you are paying attention to a particular model you tend to see it more in the hundreds out there. I really appreciate all the help with this - best regards and stay safe!

I hope someone else can help you with this. I only have experience with the black and ivory coloration of this shawl and cannot definitely say it is authentic, although I will say it looks good.

Thank you, I asked for a second opinion from another person and got the seller to send me more photos as well she offers returns if deemed not authentic so I took the chance!

Sorry I got here late. Hermes did make this design but I can't opine on this listing because it's closed and the pictures are inadequate.

i don’t know enough about Hermès and cotton. They said it’s the 90 size. is this authentic? Thank you in advance

No problem. Thank you for looking! yes the pictures were bad and the info minimal. I asked her what fabric it was because the Wrinkles looked so odd to me lol
Apologies if I am overstepping the mark here (as I am no expert, just a Hermès scarf enthusiast), but I believe this is a t-shirt scarf (as the Monsieur & Madame and Les Guepards), 100% cotton and about 110cm. I have the others and see this model popping up on my side of the pond from time to time (and that would explain the wrinkles)... However, the box does not look like the original box, which should be rectangular, I believe. Best regards
