Wiser words cannot have been said! It is such a shame to see people hand over hard earned money to strangers when it comes to birkin sale! All reasons and caution are thrown out of the window in the goal of a good bargain!

Again, to all those naysayers, these authenticators offer a free service on their OPINIONS based on the information and photos provided. It is, imo, counterproductive to argue about an opinion, as after all, the buyer in the end ultimately has to make an informed decision on whether s/he feels comfortable parting with his/her money. There will always be exceptions, be it a fake from a reliable seller or genuine from a new seller with zero feedback. It really comes down to how informed one wishes to be as well as how comfortable the buyer ultimately feels about the whole transaction and the seller!

As I get off my soap box now, lest not forget to give a round of applause to the gents/ladies who offer their services so freely to this forum! Thanks again! :ps:

So well said!!! You should step up on the soap box whenever you get the urge! Thank you!

Please help me authenticate this birkin

Hi Crimonrose35 and welcome to tPF!!

Holy flippin' moly, gal!!! You would give $10,000 to a stranger with ZERO feedback!!! There are some great sellers that are experienced with H and have a proven track record of stellar customer service. Here is a list of tPF's reputable seller's list. It's a great place to start your Birkin search.

This dyed Crinolin worries me - the seller says it dates pre-1970s to explain the lack of a blindstamp, but the bag says "Made in France" which didn't appear until after the 70s...doesn't that seem odd?

The dyed crinoline should worry you. I would pass on this. I know it looks good, but the bag will be refused service by Hermes because it was dyed.

It looks like someone polished it and the condition looks good. Nothing more that I can add. Still no pix of blind stamping or engraving.

I posted more pictures in post 1382 , I'm really sorry to bug you again with this but my niece wants to go to the store before she leaves Paris tomorrow and has been asking me all day if I had heard from you ...
Thank you very much for your help !

Comments:

Hi .... this thread is for bags, not accessories, so kindly repost in the accessory authentication thread. A couple of things in the pictures give me pause, and I hope you are aware the seller removed the change purse from the wallet - it is not included in the sale.
