Comment: This is fake, right??

Blech, yuck, ick.

Was this bag fake? It looked real to me.

Someone bought it. I thought is was hideous. Wowed by the cheap price no doubt. It is quite old and damaged, It looks as if a non Hermes person has worked on it. I don't think it is worth anything.

The listing is here. I did buy it. I dont want to pay without the thumbs up though. Guess Im just waiting to hear what she meant by her comment.
Here is the link.

Hi Luccibag,

I was the one that posted this bag here for authentication. Please note that I have no authentication experience! So never mind what I posted. I hope it turns out to be authentic for you; good idea not to pay before you get some reassurance. :)
Yes, the link you just posted did work right. I can see the original listing.

olive519 -- thanks for the heads up, i was a little confused too on whether the leather is Togo or Clemence

Pepper -- i will ask for additional pics from the seller, thank you for giving me that idea. I reviewed the listing and it was stated there that it is Rouge Faible (?)..is there such a thing??..and do you ladies think it is possible to have this color during the year 2000 (since the bag is stamped D)?

Gracekelly -- I believe you coz you're the Red Queen :smile1: so you definitely know the color and it's variations. I have one question though, I have seen a red Birkin (somewhere in a thread about red Hermes bags) with pinkish stitching and brown glue or resin (the one used as a finishing to attach the leathers). What color this might be? I asked because I prefer the brown glue/resin than the black one. This might narrow down my search for the right red hue for me.

The ladies who helped authenticate an item in these forum are all heaven sent. Nothing can surpass your invaluable help to all those who come here. You have saved a lot of us thousands of $$$ and for that thank you so much. God bless and hopefully more Hermes to all of you :smile1:

Thank you.

The bag is most likely authentic.but I would not say it definitively. The hardware might be brass, but it is showing a hallmark which you do not see on brass There is no symbol for the type of croc, but older bags did not have that. Perlerare knows more about vintage croc than i do and you could wait for her before paying.

It is old and damaged. I see restitching that looks rather sloppy. The corner damage is obvious. Bags this age are most often dry and have many age related issues.

I think 2500 is too much money, but that is just my personal opinion.

Beatriz, if you look at my avatar, you will see a rouge vif Kelly, rouge H Bolide and vermillion Drag. Rouge vif typically has pinkish stitching. Rouge H can vary greatly depending upon the leather used. I think the best thing for you to do is go to the reference section and study the colors and leathers. That should help you make a decision.
