Edit: Oh, and also, the stripe pattern came off when I rubbed it with water. << Is there a 'never rub a Fendi' rule I dont know about?

It is a VINTAGE Fendi bag & authentic. the finish may rub off simply because it is an old piece. Some FENDI bags actually have painted/inked designs on the surface & cannot be washed. YMMV
