Thanks! I'll ask for a picture. Also, the seller mentions they are a member of the purse forum. Do you think I can ask for their "user name" or is that too invasive/violates tpf rules?

I would certainly feel free to ask. Sometimes eBay sellers put that in their auctions and it's not really true, or they have like 2 posts. I'm not saying that is the case with this seller, and the bag looks ok so far, but if it matters to you whether the person is a contributing member to the forum, I would definitely ask.

Hi, I love the design of this Fendi bag but not sure if it's authentic. I asked the seller for photos of the hologram and serial, but this is all she sent me. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thank you!

the seller said she is having trouble with taking a photo of the hologram and asked me to see the bag in person (this always happens to me!). but i have no idea what to look for as i don't own a fendi.

accio - i know you doubted authenticity, could you tell me why please? the seller e-mailed me the serial code: 2354/8BR255/038. does that help?

thank you!

This was found in a room purchased at a storage auction. Can anyone tell me if the bag is authentic? Thank you.

There are a few red flags...I can't really list them here because it'll just help the fakers make better fakes...seems like it's the same story every seller uses when they are trying to hide something...if the seller doesn't provide you with the clear, close up of the hologram, I'd pass, but that's just me. If the seller indeed is unable to get a clear photo of the hologram, ask them to use the macro setting on their camera...

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Definitely don't want to help the scammers. She said she would refund if it's not authentic so if I do buy it, I'll take and post photos myself. Thanks again.

Thanks for replying. I was the one who found the bag in the room. I purchase the contents of storage rooms which go up for auction, and was thinking of selling the bags on eBay. I wanted to do the right thing and check here first. I have seen my share of bootleg/knockoff bags, and these go right in the garbage.

With this particular bag, there was no hologram. Based on other items pulled from the room, I am guessing the bag is from the mid to late 1980s. Were holograms in use back then?

Another bag which came out of a storage unit. As always, thank you.
