I want to get this bag authenticated http://cgi.ebay.com/Fendi-Spy-Bag-Zucca-NWT-Brown-W-Leather-Trim_W0QQitemZ250377799519QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WH_Handbags?hash=item250377799519&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 but I can't because this is what the seller said:

Hello! And thank you for your interest in the Fendi auction. This bag is coming DIRECTLY from the Italian factory upon sale. This is the ONLY reseller of handbags I use from Italy as they have proven extremely reputable, guaranteeing every item with 100% money back guarantee. The pictures I have received are the ones shown here on the auction. Unfortunately I do not have any other pictures. I can assure you, as I know is hard to believe these days, that I only deal with the most reputable dealers in handbags. I also offer a refund guarantee above and beyond theirs. I started with handbag parties and have now moved to eBay and will soon have an eBay store to continue to bring brand name to women who want affordable fashions.
I hope this helps, as I can understand wanting validation of my product. You will not be disappointed, should you bid and win the auction. Authenticity tags and dust bags comes with your handbag as well. Please do not hesitate to contact me further if you would like more information.

Bad, right? I think this is a big red flag? I thought I'd post it here to let other people know, too.

This was my original email to her:
Hi, Can you show me pictures of the actual bag (and the designer plate picture inside the bag) you're selling? Also, can I get clear, close up hologram and leather serial strip pictures? Thanks.

The pictures that this seller has provided are stock photos...and if the seller started with "handbag parties", that is a good indication she is selling fakes... Stay far, far away from this seller... :cursing:

Hi ladies -

I am brand new to tPF, and I have come across some questionable items in my searches...I used to have a lot of faith in my own eye, but I have been proven wrong recently, so I am looking for your esteemed opinions. Is this bag real?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350168802895

Thanks for your help!

P.S. From the pictures, it looks like there are numbers under the hologram, but they are cut off in the picture.

I think it's okay, but would have to see a clear, close-up pic of the entire hologram tag to be sure

Hi Litigatrix,

Could you please indicate why the green Spy is a fake? From what I have been able to learn about serial numbers, it was made in 2005, the only year the green was made. Perhaps it is a custom bag. Fonts on serial numbers seem to be all over the place on Ebay. Are all of those bag, fake, too?

Chinese copies do not take the great care with which this bag was made.

I didn't pay that much, I just want to know why it is a fake. The young woman who died could afford anything and there were several *real* Hermes bags at the estate sale (don't need one, have a Birkin and and a Kelly).

Thanks,
Caroline (AddiesMom)

Authentic holograms cannot fall off - it is not a sticker. :nogood: There are a few other reasons that make this bag clearly fake as well, but we don't like to list them all here for fear of helping the fakers make better fakes. :push: I agree with Litigatrix though, that from the photo and the information you provided, you have a very obvious fake. Perhaps the young woman purchased it unknowingly...:confused1: Sorry...

Read what accio wrote and also take a look at the picture of the spy that i posted vs the one you bought. The leather is completely different. You are correct that they only made the green spy in 2005. However, yours is still a pretty easy-to-spot fake.

Also, not all fakes come from China, although I would not be surprised if yours was because, like I said, it is actually not a very convincing fake if you know what to look for. Lots of high-end (and authentic) bags are made in China now, so I don't know why they could not create a reasonably well made knock-off, too.
