This past weekend I purchased at an estate sale here in Virginia's horse country a gorgeous bag, a green Fendi Spy. It is very well made. Everything looks in order, except the interior label--the hologram has fallen off. The number under the missing hologram is A 550045 and the serial number is 2211 8BR511 R01 059. The circumstances of the sale are so sad, a young woman died late last year and her parents were selling her high end personal effects.

I've seen my share of knockoffs and this just doesn't seem to be one, but I thought this forum could give me some insight further into this bag. I've read the discussions about green Fendi Spys. In our area, we seldom see the real thing, let alone a knockoff of anything. This is big Coach country, at best.

BTW, my husband gave me a black rigid Togo Kelly when we married 5 years ago and I sold my mother's 1955 rouge souple Kelly on eBay.

Thanks for any insight,
AddiesMom

Thanks for reposting. Unfortunately, this bag is absolutely fake. This is a pic of what a green spy should look like:

I want to get this bag authenticated http://cgi.ebay.com/Fendi-Spy-Bag-Z...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 but I can't because this is what the seller said:

Hello! And thank you for your interest in the Fendi auction. This bag is coming DIRECTLY from the Italian factory upon sale. This is the ONLY reseller of handbags I use from Italy as they have proven extremely reputable, guaranteeing every item with 100% money back guarantee. The pictures I have received are the ones shown here on the auction. Unfortunately I do not have any other pictures. I can assure you, as I know is hard to believe these days, that I only deal with the most reputable dealers in handbags. I also offer a refund guarantee above and beyond theirs. I started with handbag parties and have now moved to eBay and will soon have an eBay store to continue to bring brand name to women who want affordable fashions.
I hope this helps, as I can understand wanting validation of my product. You will not be disappointed, should you bid and win the auction. Authenticity tags and dust bags comes with your handbag as well. Please do not hesitate to contact me further if you would like more information.

Bad, right? I think this is a big red flag? I thought I'd post it here to let other people know, too.

This was my original email to her:
Hi, Can you show me pictures of the actual bag (and the designer plate picture inside the bag) you're selling? Also, can I get clear, close up hologram and leather serial strip pictures? Thanks.
