Hi,

Can help me to authenticate this bag? The seller refer Purse Forum for authentication. I just hope it's not another way to mistake buyers into believing his auction is authentic just because he mentioned Purse Forum.

name: Lady Dior Bag
Seller: luxurybagsbuys
Item ID: 160854545039
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160854545039?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I wouldn't let a reference to the Purse Forum persuade me into believing that a bag is authentic. If you do a Google search of most Dior styles, the Purse Forum is one of the top results, so this forum is pretty easy to find.

This bag looks familiar to me as it may have been authenticated earlier, but I want to say that the bag in the pictures is authentic.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I won the auction but the seller is requesting me NOT TO PAY via the PAY NOW mode but request me to pay directly via Paypal with a different account of him. Furthermore, he is requesting me to make 3 payment to make up the total sum. Reason given was because his PayPal account is small and unable to receive big transaction.

Have anyone heard about such request before? Is it a new scam? It sounds very fishy coupled with the fact that he only has a few feedback. Should I just cancel the transaction with him? It's a lot of money if I eventually got a fake bag or worse no bag. Not sure such arrangement is covered under eBay or Paypal.

tell him to link the different account to his ebay account. is he trying to make you pay three sums to three different paypal accounts? if so, the entire sum will not be covered under paypal's buyer's protection (even if you pay three amounts to the same account). there may be a reason why his account cannot receive a big transaction. be careful.

these are the same pictures but not cropped: http://www.brandnamecity.com/show_product.php?id=410

No wonder the pictures looked familiar!

I would send the link that Everlong provided to Ebay Customer Service (showing that the seller ripped the pictures off from somewhere else) and request to cancel the transaction. Sending the link to Ebay will justify the cancellation so the seller cannot file an Unpaid Item Dispute with you, and so your Ebay account remains in a positive standing.

The three separate payments sound like a ploy to get you to pay for 3 different things so that you will encounter a lot of trouble should you file a chargeback or claim with your credit card or PayPal.

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS ITEM

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS ITEM!!!!
1. If you do not pay via the paypal account linked to the ebay user name associated with the sale then you are not covered by paypal protection
2. The reason he wants 3 payments is that the paypal account he wants to use to receive your payment is unverified for seller activity
3. As his paypal account is unverified for seller activity, he will not have to pay paypal any fees for receiving money as a seller for transactions (high price item so obviously high fees too)
4. As his paypal account is unverified for seller activity, he cannot receive such large amounts of money (especially in one paypal transaction)
5. His unverified paypal account most probably also indicates that he has not linked it so a savings account so my assumption that it is only linked to an unverified credit card
6. If the seller's paypal account is only linked to that credit card, in the instance that you try to dispute the transaction that you sent him (if you had), then it would be closed in his favour because it isnt linked to the ebay item or ebay user so he can claim that it was for something else and you are not entitled to get a refund or dispute him
7. If the seller's paypal account is only linked to that credit card, in the instance that you try to dispute the transaction, paypal would not be able to recover the funds for you and force a reversal from him if there is no money in the credit card available to do so
8. If you pay him via a different paypal account not associated with the ebay item or user, then he can cancel the transaction on ebay and not be pay any fees to ebay
9. If you pay him via a different paypal account not associated with the ebay item or user, you wont be able to leave him feedback
10. Even if he did send you a bag i believe it would be a fake so that you would be tricked into thinking it was authentic and not raise any warning bells for you to discuss or report.
11. He would also probably delay postage in secret and send it to you via the slowest shipping method possible so that the deadline to open a dispute would be over.

my advice is to report him immediately to ebay and paypal. leave negative feedback immediately to warn others especially in consideration of the fact that he has minimal positive feedback. do NOT allow him to cancel the transaction either. i would also suggest that you continue communication with them and drag out the conversation so that he does not suddenly close the account preventing you from leaving negative feedback for him.
it is DEFINTELY a scam and needs to be reported ASAP!

Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news :crybaby:

Thanks everyone for showing great concern here. I'm touched.

Seller is quite a good teller. Sent me few mails within a day and even mentioned she saw my posting here. I've requested for her ID in purseforum but no news from her yet. She even agreed to post me more pictures and told me she did sent her bag to Thai consignment store to sell her bag i.e. brandnamecity but because of low offer price from brandnamecity, she decided to take back her bag and sell it via eBay. She now even allow me to pay via the PAY NOW mode in ebay because she just linked her Paypal account to eBay.

Nevertheless, I've decided not to proceed due to so many red herring given to me to date. If you are indeed the seller and a member of purseforum, do identify yourself and defend your case. I really don't want to accuse member in purseforum as I believe all the members here are genuine bag lovers :smile1:
