Coach Purse and Coin Purse
Item # 51988016
Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana

Although it seems genuine, since almost every style of Coach has been faked at one time or another I'm not going to say so absolutely without a clear photo of the creed patch and serial number. I don't see any obvious red flags, but if you buy it please post pictures of the creed and serial from both items when you get them. Include a link back to, or the post number for, these posts.

whateve, BeenBurned, and Hyacinth -

thanks for the advice! that's good to know about Goodwill shipping; it looks like they have an estimator and yeah it's higher than what I usually see on ebay/etc. I wonder if the auctions go as high as on ebay -- maybe it balances out. it's too bad about Poshmark because they always seem to have bags that other sites don't - but maybe that's because a bunch of them are fake. I just checked out Bonanza; thanks! thanks again for all of your expertise and advice!

Sorry. I can't help re Goodwill as I've never bought from any of their online listings. And as I've never done business, I don't know nor have I investigated their return policy.

I don't recommend Poshmark, wouldn't buy or sell there and I won't authenticate their listings (unless it's to confirm a fake) because I don't want to promote them. (Sorry if there are some TPF'ers who are good, honest sellers on PM. The site itself, its admin and its dishonest sellers have ruined it for everyone as far as I'm concerned.)

Yep, if it wasn't for that Holiday 1997 catalog pic, we'd have to say that it's fake. I just went through my catalogs on cd and can't find another picture of one, unfortunately. The Lavender one I have sounds exactly like yours, my guess from the color is that it's from Spring 1998 which is when the silver hardware and the Lavender color were both introduced for the full-size Daypack. Mine also has silver hardware.

Authenticators - I know I'm new to TPF, but I had a theory for the oversized turnlock on the red key pouch (this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vint...630&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&rmvSB=true):

Coach says on their website you can order replacement turnlocks and replace yourself: https://www.coach.com/repair-services.html

I have no idea if they still carry the brass turnlocks for the vintage items, but it seems to me that someone could have replaced the smaller turnlock the key pouch might have originally come with (or a fake one) with an authentic Coach brass turnlock, just in the normal purse size since that's all they stock now. Or they could have removed a functional authentic Coach turnlock from some other Coach product with the normal sized turnlocks if Coach does not stock the smaller version anymore. If I correctly understand how the turnlock mechanism functions, I think one would simply have to cut a larger hole in the leather flap and this would work (but it would not work to replace a larger turnlock with a smaller one).

I suppose someone could have also gotten the questionable hang tag from somewhere else, too.

This would explain the different shades of brass Hyacinth mentioned and why the turnlock seems too big and doesn't have the indents in the back indicative of a fake. Sorry to butt in, but the engineer in me got the best of me! On another note - I wish Coach still made/sold these!

Hi there,
I’m new here. Appreciate your guidance.
My small kelsey is exactly like this CashmereCouture’s.
No serial num on patch.
No serial num on white tag.
Nothing.
How do I know if it’s authentic?

Please read post number One in this thread for authentication instructions. We need photos of YOUR bag, not one "exactly like it".

Been searching everywhere to find the characteristics of a fake kelsey but most answers are vague.

Found this forum and would appreciate if someone could help me authenticate my small pink ruby kelsey.

I bought this online and she said it’s authentic.
Wondering why it doesn’t have any serial number at the tag.
Just ‘made in vietnam’.

That's possible. However, that doesn't explain the unfinished drawstring or the different chain or the slightly wrong shape.

Most of the auctions I won on Goodwill didn't go as high as ebay but several of those I didn't win went very high.

Hi, could someone help me?
I bought this small kelsey online believing that it’s authentic.
Having doubts now as I can’t find the serial number.
Been searching everywhere about the small kelsey but answers have always been quite vague.
Could someone please guide me about the serial number? Is there supposed to be one?
If no, then how do I know that it’s authentic?
Thank you!

Is this an authentic Coach Bag?

This bag is not currently listed for sale. I believe it is a Coach Beekman Brief. The approximate dimensions are 16.5" x 12.5" x 4.5" . The Creed has a orderly creed number of K4C-5266 and states it was made in the United States. I have attached photographs ( 2 of the creed as one had photo flash glare on it)IMG_4058ed.JPG IMG_4078ed.JPG IMG_4080ed.JPG IMG_4064ed.JPG IMG_4065ed.JPG IMG_4070ed.JPG IMG_4071ed.JPG IMG_4076ed.JPG IMG_4077ed.JPG

Feel around inside the zippered interior pocket, possibly turning it inside out to look for a white label with numbers on it. Post a picture of that label.
