You are just confirming my suspicions unfortunately.The year is at least 2 years too early for nickel hardware in this style. I've never seen an authentic bag with a K factory code that wasn't made in China and none this early. The curved front under the flap wasn't used until around 1999. The grooves on the turnlock are the death knell. I'd be curious if you find any other mistakes.
Regarding the "K" plant I did some research and found reference to some bags made in the "K" plant that was open for a very short period in the USA, I did not bookmark them so I'll go back and try to find it. But that is not enough, the other factors are a bad sign. But it looks SO GOOD!
