All three are fake. The Bean Bag also has a known always-fake serial number.

Hoping to get some help with weather this is authentic or not :)

Item name: don't know
Seller:second hand store
Who took the photo: I did

I bought this wallet and it came with a cheque book holder I believe, not sure what is name is or if it's authentic but I thought it would be a lovely gift for my grandmother as it looks brand new!

Thanks, hopefully the Guides editing process is working again.

The Coach Italy Guide needs a correction, in the fifth paragraph where it says "The Dakotas were all made in Italy of a unique "box grain" textured leather..." the word "all" just needs to be changed to "mostly".

If you have time, the second-to-last paragraph could use a tweak too. It currently says "Even now, the most expensive styles and exotic leather bags still are produced at the Italian plant (now plant code “12” in the serial number instead of the original “E”)

It should be changed to "The most expensive styles and exotic leather bags were produced at the Italian plant (now plant code “12” in the serial number instead of the original “E”) until around 2010.

Thank you!

Done! Thanks for your incredible attention to detail.

I'm sorry, I don't think it is authentic. Coach always has pockets rather than slits for the credit card slots. I've never seen a Coach checkbook holder that has plastic on it. The lozenges look off. A fabric checkbook holder usually has leather piping on the edges. The pattern seems off and the hardware looks like antique brass, which Coach didn't usually use.

It's fake, I hope you can get your money back. Coach NEVER made that kind of "slit" design for their credit card slots - Coach CC pockets are always full pockets with each one sewn individually. The Coach stamp is in the wrong place, and there are several other problems with it including the leather trim and the fabric pattern.

Thanks again Richard!

I added another post number 9402, a bit later about the "Bean Bag" paragraph in the Vintage and Classic Leather Guide. I hate to be a pest, but is there any way you could correct that too when you get a chance? Thanks again!
