Just within the last year or two AFAIK. However, they've been either making or distributing fairly accurate fakes through the Philippines for the last 4 or 5 years. Bags from the P.I. or from Philippine sellers needs to be very carefully authenticated, and we usually recommend that tPF members don't buy them.

size: 7.5" long x 6" tall x 2.5" deep. Strap drop 23" on red and 24" on white.
Both have spring pull button closure
The white bag has a wrinkle in the leather just above the serial number and I found it really hard to see and almost impossible to photograph. I think the first three digits are A5D and the last is def 9892.

Hello, it's been a while!

I found this bag at my local thrift store, I'm unfamiliar with the style. I haven't seen many with button snaps so I was wondering if I could get some help authenticating it.

I think it's a Sonoma F7E-4929

Hi I bought this bag off eBay for a really cheap price! No one bid against me and now I am having second thoughts. I do see stretch marks on it! Maybe I'm wrong though. Thank you for looking and please let me know!!

I am still curious how and why her listings were removed.
There was nothing in her listing which would be suspicious or show that the bag was fake,
there is only MY finding once I got it in person.
As much as I am glad that she had to take responsibility - I wonder about the removal.
Could it be that my stated reason for return caused the removal of that listing automatically?

I did tell her that I was okay with the other two bags, and only had a problem with one,
so she might have taken that as approval they were authentic. I certainly did not give her an "authentication", nor did I tell her that I was a Coach reseller on ebay! Although she could have easily deduced that from my buying history.
Just clarifying - as my next step if she had wanted to just refund me for the one I KNEW was fake,
would have been to come here and get the other two verified..lol.

By the way she wrote me after I left the feedback and was upset that I had left her neg feedback since
she took the return and did not give me a hard time - I explained to her that by relisting the "offending" item she took the role of a scammer, and that is why I gave her a neg.
It's a balancing act on ebay!

You guys figured it all out on your own, supersleuths!

PS - I did not buy the bags using my seller account, I rarely if ever do that.
I have an acct I use only for buying. It is not a good idea to do that with the same account.
Too many crazy people!

It looks fine. It's a small shoulder bag. Beautiful color! Those marks are the natural markings of the leather. I've seen that plenty of times on authentic bags. It's not the same as the elephant skin we sometimes talk about.

I don't know why your postings don't appear as links. Just a reminder, we would appreciate that you provide all the information required in the first post of this thread. It helps others in a search.
