ETA: It's interesting that although use of "authentic" in a listing is irrelevant since it's required that all items be the real deal, I believe that the seller tabbychris24219 knows that this one is fake. Her other two Coach bags state "authentic" in the titles.

There seem to be many fakes currently listed but since I'm no expert and would hate to hurt an honest seller...
BUT, this one was truly AWFUL. Peeling leather and yikes, that creed -:yucky:

Can someone please confirm my suspicions of this Stewardess? A friend found this at an estate sale, and was so excited to give it to me. Hard to read, but the serial starts with an invalid letter-S5B-9525, and you can faintly see a corner of a border around it. The grommets are silver. Thanks as always!

Thanks Whateve. I was 99.9% sure immediately, with that creed especially. Now to figure out what to tell my friend. :-( She's pretty sensitive.
Do any of you run into this kind of thing with friends and family? I try to make it clear that there are a lot of fakes out there, so it's probably best just to let me find my own vintage bags...

My step-mother wanted me to sell her "gorgeous vintage Dooney" and I refused because it was fake. She gave couldn't understand how I knew (or if I knew what I was talking about) and kept insisting that no one would know the difference.

I refused to take and and didn't discuss it further. I've got no doubt she ripped someone off at her next yard sale. :nogood:
