Solid brass in 1996? And it looks like the key holes a turning silver! Feels like the hardware may not match...And I have never seem that zipper pull before! And the pocket on the from is bigger than the flap that covers it! Oh my what did I get myself into!! Help!!

It's fake. They didn't put solid brass on bags made in 1996. The creed has anomalies too. The font is completely wrong for that plant. I've seen other fakes with the same number font. The cartouche is wrong too and has too many frames around it. By 1996, that plant was using the newer style creed wording - it wouldn't have the "made in the United States" on the bottom. Yes, the zipper pull is also wrong.

Ugh I should of known! I am so mad at myself!! I will have to return it!! I think this a scary good fake! That I did not even know until I took it out of the box and I knew something was not right! Thank you so much for your every quick response!

You're welcome. This style is probably the most faked of all. I think I have seen more fakes than real. I would recommend you never buy one of these without getting it authenticated first. If you bought this from an auction site, I'd appreciate having the listing information. The seller should be watched to make sure she doesn't try to sell it again.

Oh I should of included it, but I had her email me a pic of the creed! And I thought that the number checked out! I took a chance because I knew she knew nothing about coach and thought I might of gotten a deal! Stupid me!:/

The number does check out. There's a lot more to being authentic than just having a correct number. If you had posted it here before you purchased, we would have told you not to buy it.

Don't beat yourself up. I discovered that two of my favorite vintage finds were fake. It was months after I had bought them on ebay so it was too late to do anything. At least you'll be able to get most of your money back. You'll be more careful next time.

The leather isn't as soft as in the duffle. It is much more structured.
