Purchased on eBay. Recieved a refund from the seller because I am sure it was a fake. 2 other bags are for sale on eBay with the same number stamped crookedly on the creed.
Tag had a horse and carriage stamped as well as the word Coach.

Coach Red fold over tote.
Serial Number: B0973- 12988

Seems like plastic, not leather. Hardware thin, rings have visible seams not solid. Both sides of the bag have zipper pockets.

Was I right?

The creed stamping is a MESS. Also the date is waaaaaay off, that style looks like one of the Daisy Foldovers from a year or two ago which means the date code is fake too. The genuine version never had a Horse & Carriage emblem. Style 12988 looks like the picture below.

Whateve is right though, any questionable bag should be checked here first to be absolutely sure the bag is fake before contacting the seller. A buyer has a lot more credibility when she can give solid irrefuteable details about why it's counterfeit. It also helps in case you need to file a Dispute with Ebay.

The one on ebay with 4908 is really 4903 - the seller just misread it. Style 4908 is a backpack.

For the backpack, the seller says it was made in Italy and I think I read an E in the creed, and it looks like it could say "Made in Italy" at the bottom of the creed. I'm a little confused because it looks like the seller has the same backpack listed for a different price: https://www.etsy.com/listing/200120...hesi7hYLVuz6XV2I-qPBltrnfMC4-EGAb1BoCMsPw_wcB

I don't see any problems if the creed checks out.
The seller sent me a picture of the creed,I'm attaching. Thanks Whateve.

Hi, would you kindly give me your feedback on this purse please? Thank you. I think I put this in the wrong thread previously, but here it is now.

Thanks. I missed all the very obvious warning signs, and when I recieved the bag, realized it was a fake. Gave seller reasons (creed, hardware, style not consistent et al.) Just wanted confirmation before I return bag.

Can this bag be authenticated? Seller did not have creed photo or hangtag in listing. Sent the photos per my request. Can't get them to download to my tablet clearly, but were clear in the email attachment.

The style numberfor the signature bag is: E0868-12657

And this one:

Thanks.

I hope you'll be able to post photos because we need to SEE the creed and serial number to authenticate. Can you try downloading them to a full-featured computer and posting them from there? Just because a creed is clear doesn't mean it's genuine.

I've never seen striped lining, or a hand written creed. The hardware looks flimsy too.

Thanks. I'm new here and hope I did this correctly.

It looks fine to me. You think the hardware looks flimsy? It looks really heavy and substantial to me. The 65th anniversary collection is known for the striped lining and the handwritten creed, as well as heavy hardware.

Welcome to tpf! The information we need is shown in the first post of this thread. Just click on page 1.

The only thing flimsy about the hardware was that the early turnlocks for that line tended to break, but it was a new turnlock design and had a few bugs. The rest of the hardware was VERY heavy.

Remember, just because you haven't seen something before doesn't mean it's fake. There are thousands of Coach bags you've probably never seen before, including styles like that one from the 65th Anniversary Legacy line that are considered classics.

It might be a Richmond Bag from the early 1990s Sheridan line but we need measurements and a better idea of what the top and strap attachment looks like to be sure.
