Is this one OK? The actual serial number is stamped so much lighter than the creed.

Item: Coach Patricia Legacy

I own

Creed Number: C8 (not sure maybe an "H") -9951

Links:

Measurements: 8 1/2" tall (taken in the middle at the lowest point) 11 1/2" width 4 1/2" depth
That serial number worries me, especially if it is an H. Can you take a picture of the inside pocket, showing the entire zipper?

Hi everyone, these are my finds from the weekend.

The first one is stamped Italy and I remember Hyacinth commenting to have the "E" checked for that. Measurements are about 11 tall by 11 1/2 wide x 4 1/4 deep with 17 inch strap drop set on the top holes:

The second one has a zipper on the inside pocket that opens opposite than what I'm used to seeing. Measurements are about 11 1/2 tall by 12 wide by 4 deep with a 21 inch strap drop in the top hole:

Thanks so much for your help :)
The top bag with the E plant code appears authentic.

Of course! Anything that helps you guys is okay with me. You are trying to help us all with nothing but a thank you for all your efforts and knowledge!

It may not be an H at all! It may be a B or an N? It looks different every time I look at it. The first letter almost looks like a "D" in the shot below not that makes any difference. I will try the shiny powder when it dries. I am really hoping this one is genuine. It is so nice. At least I think it is! :p

I am trying an attempt at cleaning with a dunk. Maybe I should have tried with one you have already told me wasn't good. :shrugs:

Here are zippers:

Other shots of the Creed (swollen from a dunk):

The pocket looks fine. An N factory code wouldn't be good. If you can do the powder trick to show it better, I'd like to see that. I don't see any problems with the bag so if the factory code checks out, the bag is probably authentic.

Title - Beautiful & Rare! Vintage Coach Black Leather Structured Carousel Bag #D4H-9942
Item number - 261574353205
Seller phatchixtan2
Listing - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beautiful-R...205?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3ce70be135

Comments: The spacing and character size of the serial number doesn't look correct for the H plant. (Additionally, the seller had a fake Coach wallet listing a couple of months ago.)

This is the creed from the listing in question. Interestingly, I wonder whether there's a reason why she doesn't show the full creed:

And this is the creed from another listing from the same seller showing what an H plant creed usually looks like:

Not only is the serial number font wrong, but the V-rings that the long strap clips to are completely wrong, the genuine clips are round eyelet-type posts. The genuine Carousel 9942 also has TWO inside pockets. Picture below.

Can someone take a look at this item? I've never seen one like this before. If it's genuine can you advise me of its' age and name if known. TIA

It looks like a Branson Bag 9915 from the early 90s. I don't see how the seller can call this a medium sized bag. I think it is large.

Genuine. Coach called it a Branson Bag, style 9915 from the 1992-93 Camden Classics line.

Please note that the seller says the Touchlock is broken. Coach probably WON'T be able to repair that since they haven't used that kind of lock in more than 20 years.

Thanks for such a quick reply, whateve and Hyacinth! I thought it looked pretty big as well which isn't a bad thing! I did notice the seller mentioned the broken lock and I was hoping it could either be fixed or replaced. I really like the style and I hope she cleans up well. Would this be part of the lightweight collection?

And duuh! I just googled the name and found me asking the exact same thing (including me never seeing one before) in January. My brain obviously works like a sieve.

No. I've never had one but I think the leather is more like the classic styles.

Thanks, Hyacinth. phatchixtan2 is another seller who sells an awful lot of Coach items and clearly doesn't do her homework before listing.

Good afternoon, I have a few bags I would love you to look at!
This first "Sonoma" is very questionable, not happy with it at all, the lining is different (more scratchy) than my other sonomas - the lozenge zipper pull is very thin, and finally the creed looks awful. Also one side of the shoulder strap is pebbled, but the other side is a different smoother texture.
Thank you much!

This next one bothers me somewhat. The leather is very stiff, but maybe that is just because it was not used much, there is no brand name on the zipper (missing the pull). The wording on the patch is very shallow and it is very, very slightly angled. Underneath the flap pocket are three numbers stamped in silver.
Thank you!
