Please authenticate this lovely wallet. It was picked up at goodwill. The leather is super smooth. If there is any other info I could provide let me know. Thank you so much!
It appears authentic. I don't know the style. It is probably from the mid to late 90s. The leather might be water buffalo calfskin. It looks very similar to the continental clutch.

Yes, there are differences in the leather used for different styles, made in different plants, and made at different times. The only stewardess I've ever seen IRL was made in Costa Rica in 2001, and the leather was very supple. I've never had a NYC bag with leather that soft, even my basic bag that is in new condition. Part of it is probably that the leather has aged. If it wasn't kept conditioned all those years, you may never be able to restore the suppleness of the leather completely.
I'm finding Obenauf's will soften the NYC leather and in fact has a great affect on Coach leather from all eras. I apply two coats after two coats of Leather Therapy and leave it at least two days between each coat. I also used the hair dryer after the first coat on my burgundy NYC Stew and I think it helped. Putting it out in the sun would probably have achieved the same result but this was a good option during winter.

I agree with Whateve.

Thanks to both of you, Whateve and Hyacith! I appreciate it greatly :D. And I appreciate your comment, Whateve, about the differences in leathers. I am going to try the mink oil suggested in the rehab forum. At least I now know I have authentic bags and to proceed with the rehabbing.

Have a good day!

Good to know. I am finding in my (limited) rehabbing that sometimes the Blackrock and Obenauf's will leave it a little tacky. Maybe I'm putting too much on it or not buffing it out enough. I do let it set for at least a day or so. Maybe the hairdryer would help. I may try that.

Thanks much for your input!

Hi everyone, these are my finds from the weekend.

The first one is stamped Italy and I remember Hyacinth commenting to have the "E" checked for that. Measurements are about 11 tall by 11 1/2 wide x 4 1/4 deep with 17 inch strap drop set on the top holes:

The second one has a zipper on the inside pocket that opens opposite than what I'm used to seeing. Measurements are about 11 1/2 tall by 12 wide by 4 deep with a 21 inch strap drop in the top hole:

Comment:

I've seen a bag very similar to this with the creed stamped on the flap like that in a thrift store. Could they be anymore obvious!? The font isn't even right.
I missed the listing as it had already been removed, but I found a cache of it and the creed is worth showing and saving for a giggle!

I believe the first one is okay but wait for others on that one.

The second bag with N4H-9920 is fake. It's an invalid serial number and is on Hyacinth's and Daria48's list.

Across about 1/4 down:
N4H-9920 - always fake, one of the codes is invalid

Title - Beautiful & Rare! Vintage Coach Black Leather Structured Carousel Bag #D4H-9942

Comments: The spacing and character size of the serial number doesn't look correct for the H plant. (Additionally, the seller had a fake Coach wallet listing a couple of months ago.)

This is the creed from the listing in question. Interestingly, I wonder whether there's a reason why she doesn't show the full creed:

And this is the creed from another listing from the same seller showing what an H plant creed usually looks like:

Thank you, BeenBurned. I will have to take that list when I go shopping from now on! I will check back later to see if the first one is okay with everyone else too. Thanks again. :smile1:

Is this one OK? The actual serial number is stamped so much lighter than the creed.

Item: Coach Patricia Legacy

I own

Creed Number: C8 (not sure maybe an "H") -9951

You're welcome! I got my mink oil as an add-on to an Amazon order. It was only $2.99. The brand is Sof Sole.
