FAKE. Get your money back NOW.

We require a link to the original auction as well as the seller's name and Ebay item number, it helps us track deliberate or accidental fakes sales like this one. Please post the auction link where you bought it, I can't find it in the recent sales for that style number. The first post in this thread explains what information needs to be posted for all authentications. Please DON'T trust your own opinion!

I'm seeing a LOT of problems - the fabric pattern on the lower part of the front is crooked, look at the bottom. And the pattern on the front flap AND on back isn't centered. The creed has run-together words "thefinestmaterialstrimmed", the Coach logo on the creed isn't right, and I've NEVER seen that design on a magnetic snap before. Oh, and the metal hangtag is fake too.

If you had asked BEFORE you bid on that we could have told you it was fake just by seeing the crooked uncentered pattern. There are dozens of genuine ones listed on Ebay you can compare yours to. Here's just one example of a real one:

I'm still waiting for the ebay seller to respond to my case and he has till 7/24 to respond. Still no refund back and I still have this fake. I did purchase the one you recomended to be authentic and it's beautiful. Very clean and looks brand new. I don't think it was ever used at all. Thank You very much for pointing me the right way. This seller still has his Craigslist ad up also and hasn't even pulled it.

I took a few photos of them together. Authentic Coach on the left and photo of the authentic Coach bag creed patch.

Isn't it sad that your seller is now knowingly breaking the law and attempting to sell a fake? This time, she can't claim she didn't know.

After having the listing removed from ebay by seller grant_foster92, it's now for sale on Craigslist.

Those reading this post should flag the CL listing as "prohibited."

It's like night and day when you see them side by side, isn't it? Do you see what we mean when we talk about the C pattern being centered? On most BUT NOT ALL Signature or Op Art C patterns, the right and left halves should be mirror images of each other.

There are quite a few C pattern styles such as Optics, Scarf Prints, Tartans and others that don't follow that rule, and quite a few exceptions even with the standard Signature C pattern like yours. But most of the time those Cs should mirror each other on the front and usually on the back too. That's why just one look at that seller's listing should set off alarm bells.

I hope you get your money back - just follow Ebay's instructions on their Resolution Center and in their messages, and don't let the seller talk you into any kind of delay. He's completely in the wrong here and sellers that don't authenticate highly-faked styles shouldn't complain if they get caught selling a fake.

BTW, did you know that you can report a counterfeit item being sold on Craigslist by clicking on the "Prohibited" link at the top of the page? I don't know how many they need before they remove something, but I've just made MY contribution.
(ETA - Should have read the comments by BeenBurned first) :graucho:

I flagged it too.

I also informed the seller of the law regarding the sale of fakes, but I doubt that the seller gives a fig.

I did! I'm doing a lot of rehabbing right now. I need to dump them all into a pile and take a picture! The most interesting bags I got are a Bonnie Cashin double kisslock, a green nubuc Sonoma drawstring 4931 for $4!, a NYC slim duffle (I'm going to have to post it so you can ID it), a Legacy drawstring 9165, a slim satchel compact in flannel gray, and a 2003 suede Ergo hobo. I never paid more than $25 for anything. I also got some wallets and non-Coach stuff.

Sounds like you hit the lottery - we can't wait to see them! :smile1:

Hello! This is my first post, as I am hoping to find a name for a bag I recently bought second-hand.
It is a green leather, with the brown contrasting leather binding. (I suppose you can see these things in my photos, as well as the lining)

I was initially concerned about the plastic zipper, and the missing serial number, but after reading up on the Made in Italy bags, those seem to be actual things used on the bags.
Thanks for your help! (And sorry about the poor photos.. my camera isn't very good)

I agree that it looks okay. (Note that the first picture is a stock photo, something the seller shouldn't be using.)

Some of the AT subforums are pickier than others as to whether they'll authenticate completed listings, private sales or non-ebay purchases. It's up to the authenticators what they choose to do and with Coach, we're pretty flexible.

Thank you so much! :flowers:

Welcome to tPF!

You didn't post any measurements - always a good idea BTW - but it looks like a Sheridan Alexandria Zip, style number 4223 and probably made in 1992 or 1993. It's genuine and all the details are right. It should measure about 8x5x2 inches.

Hello! I saw this listing and have never seen this bag before. I asked the seller to post a pic of the label, but she said she it was new and never opened and feels it would ''lose it's value' if she opens the package? I can only assume it is sealed in plastic perhaps? The photo looks like it is not one of her own. She insists she bought the bag from Coach and it was very expensive. I have never seen one like this, have you? And if so, what is the name and style number? What is really strange is that this listing ended but she has another one just like it that ends in two days? For 100 dollars less?

She also describes it as "Trying to get my money back for a gift that was never given".

I don't recognise the style but even if I did there's absolutely NO way I'd buy anything from a seller who REFUSES to take a creed photo or even list the serial number. If it was bought as a gift she should still have the receipt so why not return it for a refund?

Frankly, her story stinks and has more holes in it that aged Swiss Cheese, and I wouldn't buy from seller " dkmanomet " if she was the only seller on Ebay.

The bag is fake too, the C pattern isn't centered, the Carriage emblem wouldn't have been used on such a cheap-looking style, the hardware especially the rings holding the straps are thin and cheap and I don't remember Coach even using woven handles like that, and the Carriage emblem and patch are fake and only found on counterfeit bags, and it's not even centered correctly on those stripes. The price tag is also fake, the way it's half-opened you should be able to see the price on the inside bottom edge of the tag but there's nothing there.

BTW, the seller relisted - this should be the URL and listing number to report. Maybe that's what you mean by "two listings"?

AND THE SELLER HAS ANOTHER POS LISTED, PLEASE REPORT BOTH:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-In-Mo...099?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3ce50b369b

Totally fake style, fake price tag, fake AND crooked Carriage emblem and Coach logo, and another BS lie from this scammer:
"Brand new from the coach store. Trying to get some of my money back. It will be shipped still in the unopened box from coach the way I purchased it."

BULLSHYTE.

DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER dkmanomet !!!
