I'll show you a couple of my Bleecker bags that the F was added to to help. I have one boutique bought bag without the F and then a factory bought one with the F. I understand that F can also be for June however it is most definitely added when a bag goes to the factory.
You're incorrect and/or confused.

F at the beginning of the serial number never has anything to do with where the bag was sold. F isn't "added" when a bag goes to the outlet. When a boutique (non-MFF) bag goes to the outlet, a bullet stamp is added.

Here's a picture of my own bag (same style made in August). I bought it from the outlet, as indicated by the bullet.

BB... I'm perpetually confused. .. that goes without saying :) my expertise is in vintage bags and I'll defer to you for the factory and/or newer. This was a randomly chosen image that I added on the guide. I'll choose a better one.

We'd be a pretty boring bunch of people if we were all perfect, never made mistakes, never had the ability to learn and all agreed with each other. Life is a learning experience from the day we're born until the day we die.

I'll add my OK to what BeenBurned said, and that the same information is in the Salearea Guides.

Since 1994 the F in front of the serial prefix always means the bag was made in June. The F in front of the style number means the bag was a Made For Factory item. The "F" for Factory code wasn't even added to the style number part of the serial number until around August or September of 2006. Before that the Bullseye may have been used for bags made just for the outlets as well as for transfers from the boutiques to the outlets but that's just a guess on my part. Maybe someone else can fill in the blanks there.

I don't know when Coach started making bags specifically for the Factory Outlets, but I'd be willing to bet that it didn't happen until well after 1994. My guess would be maybe late 90s to early 2000s but I wasn't shopping the outlets then so really couldn't say for sure.

And hey, don't worry about being confused about time periods you don't usually specialize in, we all get a bit confuzzled at times. The term "bean bag" immediately comes to mind... :graucho: It keeps me humble.

Hmm, I thought "variations are a characteristic" an incomplete sentence!

Thanks, Hyacinth.

As long as it has a noun and a verb, it's a complete sentence, like "I see". It just LOOKS incomplete because the older "variations" sentence was a lot longer. But the creed wording kept getting longer and longer and Coach had to chop it down somehow.

No kidding....(bean bag). I'm humbled on a daily basis in some form or fashion. Keeps me honest.

Good Evening,

I recently purchased this Penelope Signature Shantung (13289) on eBay. After reading some guides (post purchase), I began to wonder if it was authentic. Any help is greatly appreciated!
