I found this wallet at a thrift store earlier in the week. I'm pretty sure it's real, the leather is very nice! In any case for $5.00 and a lenient return policy I had to buy it. :)

I think it's a Checkbook Wallet in Signature Fabric. The cheque cover is missing but the wallet itself is in decent shape. It was really dusty and a bit grimy so a quick bath fixed it right up. Could you confirm that this is what it is?

I also found this little change purse(?) yesterday at another thrift store for a whopping $0.79! :smile1: There is no creed but the stamp inside says made in Costa Rica and there is a round stamp beside it. She is absolutely filthy so it'll be interesting to see what colour she becomes after bathing.

The dimensions are 4" x 3.35" x 1"

I found this purse in my grandmother's attic. It's from the 70s or 80s ( even an old 13 cent stamp inside) and is all leather- it is a " new york" bag and the new york creed matches up ( hard to read in the pic I know) There is no lining- and It's in need of serious clean up, but I wanted some help in finding out if it was authentic or not. I know that they did fake bags in the 70s/80s SO i was hoping for any input. Thanks Also the zipper is talon brand and heavy duty...View attachment 2649550

As you are new you may not be aware that there are a number of 'official' authenticators for this thread who have years of experience and knowledge about Coach bags and who generously give up their time to help buyers sort the treasure from the trash. Some specialize in the more contemporary styles and others are vintage experts.

These people include Hyacinth, Whateve, BeenBurned and NoshoePolish. (Sorry if I've missed anyone).

It is best to leave authentication to these 'officials' to avoid confusion.

Hey now, I don't come here to be attacked.rudeness is not necessary..I'm not disputing the fact that there are people who know more on the mAtter than I. I just commented on what I saw to be authentic from my experiences.:) I don't want enemies.

No-one is attacking anyone and I certainly wasn't being rude, I just want to avoid confusion especially for those people who don't visit here often and may not be familiar with the official authenticators. There are some very good high quality counterfeit bags on the market and sometimes even the experts have difficulties calling it.

Thanks,

The wallet looks ok. The change purse and belt both also look ok.

Just an FYI that that is not how one authenticates a Coach Bag.

cousinbull, you may want to do what's always a good idea any time you join a forum - go back and read the last 20 or 30 pages of posts to see what's REALLY involved in authenticating a Coach product.

You can't "feel" leather through a computer. And many accurate fakes have good quality leathers.

Many Coach bags have linings, especially styles made in the last 15 years, and fakes makers usually don't make stupid mistakes like putting a lining in a ripoff of a style that didn't have one.

and MOST important -

Zippers don't mean squat. Read my Signature under all my posts.

Welcome to tPF

This is my first time in any forum.:) I read what you wrote about the lady with the counterfeit willis bag.wow.I would have thought that to be a real one.I had to stop immediately and go check mine. Thank goodness it wasn't like hers.I'm still getting used to the way posts work so in the future I'll take your advice. In the meantime I have one more question:-),can you tell me when my willis handbag was made the serial number is K8P-9927. Thankyou
