Hello please authenticate this bag! My link keeps breaking so here is the listing number

221403166981

Seller: blue7angel

Comments the serial number is 3H7-9953 which is out of order and should have another letter not number! Also, if a R&R club member is looking at this. Can you tell me about the green stain on there? She is uncertain, but says it feels gritty and is on the surface. Is there a chance to remove it? Plmk! Thank you! And happy Saturday!!!

I agree completely with Whateve. Not only are the digits in the prefix in the wrong order, they're not even right as to what kind and how many of each type of digit, number or letter, there should be. The creed stamp is in an invalid format for 1997 if that's the year it was supposedly made, and several of those wrong construction details are ONLY found in fakes.

Thanks guys! (Whateve every time I try and quote multiple times, it gets cut off! I meant to include you too!) What should I do? The seller is well established, so I don't want to offend her! Also do you ever see any or these bags (orange bucket bag) anymore? I have been looking for forever and can not find one!;( thank you!!!

You're welcome. To multiquote, click on the circle between the quote and qreply buttons for each post except for the last one. Then on the last one, click quote and they should all appear in your reply.

I've never seen an authentic bucket in orange. I know they made ergos and geometrics in orange, and I have a carnival bag in red-orange. I've seen a few Bonnie Cashin era bags in a burnt orange color. The Becket zip, made in the early 90s, came in some unusual colors - I've never seen it in orange but it is possible it did.

ETA: I wouldn't tell the seller unless I knew her personally or had dealt with her before. Just because she is established doesn't mean she knows anything about Coach or attempts to authenticate her bags before listing.

I don't believe it is authentic. There are a few construction details that are off. I can't even imagine an error they could have made in the creed stamp that would explain a number that has that much wrong with it.

I agree with not telling the seller.

Without knowing how a seller will react, you risk getting your own message reported and your account dinged for misuse of the messaging system.

No matter how "established" a seller is, unless you know and/or have done business with that seller and know her to be receptive to it, it's better to just report the fake and let ebay send the message.

And justpokey has this listing, definitely fake with a known fake serial number, L4C-9956.

And in trying to compare other details of the bag, I came across this listing. The buckle is completely different although the seller describes it as style 4140. The creed isn't legible.

Authentic COACH Leather Shoulder Bag 4140
Seller midunoya
Item number: 181364349583

The seller's autobiographical information in interesting.

You're not saying that seller Midunoya's listing is fake, are you? Or am I just mis-reading your post? The 4140 in Midunoya's listing looks ok, it's a genuine Lafayette Bag, and I just want to make sure no one reports that one accidently. I can't tell if you're talking about that one or the fake from justpokey since that fake has already been removed. The A4K-4140 serial number is definitely invalid.

(I was pretty sure that justpokey's was fake.)

I was asking about the second listing from the Japanese seller also. After looking at a bunch of Lafayette bags, all of which had horseshoe shaped buckles, I was curious because item 181364349583 looked as if it had rectangular buckles.

I just looked again and I see that it, too has rounded ones.

Sorry about the confusion. I was asking because I didn't know whether or not it was authentic..

I've edited my post to remove the confusing part.

I think the buckles are just flopped over at a 90-degree angle to where they should be. It's easier to see that if you look at the one on the strap on the back of the one in the Gallery pic instead of the front strap. A creed pic would help but what I see looks ok.

Hi, looking to buy this vintage coach on eBay, can someone help to authenticate? Thanks!!

Comments: I have asked seller for more photos on the creed but not sure if it's clear.

The creed still isn't very clear. I can make out the style number but not the prefix. Is it J5C? I would prefer to see a much clearer creed picture in order to say absolutely that it is authentic. From what I can see, it is probably okay. It isn't a Willis. It is the much smaller Regina bag.

Item : No. L1361-F23918
Seller: KEL & Group (considered Power Seller in qoo10 Singapore)
Link: http://list.qoo10.sg/item/COACH-PRICE-S-350-AND-BELOW-TOTE-SATCHEL/406000924?selectedOptions
Item name: Daisy Outline Signature Metallic Convertible Hobo (Color: moonlight)
Comments: Please help me authenticate this bag. Actually the quality is good but I've noticed the following unusual in the bag: (this is my first time to have a Coach bag)
1. The creed is quiet hard to read (you can check the picture I include in this post)
2. There are some I don't know whether its minor stitching glitches.

(According to seller, this is factory bag item. The exact code written on the creed is No. L1361-F23918)

There is no dust bag nor authenticity card because the seller told me the Coach Factory outlet does not issue anymore.

The bag in the photobucket pictures is authentic. (The pictures in the listing are all stock photos so the seller shouldn't even be using them.)

The bag is a MFF (made for factory) bag and though they don't come with dust bags, they should include a care card.

Coach doesn't have "authenticity cards." A care card tells how to care for the materials and detailing (fabric, leather, beading, etc.) on the bag. Coach puts the cards into the inner zipper pocket but it's possible it could have been lost.
