Thanks. Now that you point it out, it is super obvious. I didn't look at it closely enough.

ETA: What do you think of the second station bag she asked about? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321130874991?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
The only F plant creed I have in my files is a briefcase with a unique serial number font. If this bag really has an F plant code, the font doesn't appear to look like the one I know is authentic.

I'm not sure about that one either.

What I noticed on that one is the stitching. it's really crooked and way in from the edge. And the inside pocket looks like it has that "elephant leather."

I received this bag today. I could only see part of the creed in the listing. Is this authentic coach? The factory code is a 4. I bought off ebay. The seller's name is goodthings1400. The link is http://www.ebay.com/itm/331118195553?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Thanks

I've never seen a plant code "4" before. Maybe it's a legitimate mistake at the plant, but it means the bag can't be completely authenticated. It's not a case of the plant mistakenly mixining up the last 2 numbers either because that style would have to have a 2000 or newer plant code.

There are only a few blurry files of a style 9168 in my files, but the basic styling details seem right. That's just not enough to be 100 percent sure that it's real since I don't have a known genuine bag or plant serial number stamp it can be compared to. The only stamp thats close but not an exact match is the one from the D plant during the same time period where they also added that extra dash after the "No".

Yep, it's just another one that we probably can't be really sure about. If the plant only was operating for a short time, you'd expect them to make some mistakes. :confused1:

That's what I thought too. I can't remember seeing any plant mistakes on a bag this new. It seems that by 2000, things would have been automated enough that this kind of mistake would be almost impossible. Unless it was done purposely for some unknown reason.

Thanks Hyacinth and Whateve. Everything else about the bag feels genuine. I should know better then to buy off ebay without seeing the whole creed, but it was only twenty dollars, so I took a chance.

Hi ladies,
I saw a vintage coach bag in a thrift store, it looks like the style 4404 from medicine line, however, the serial no is just No 0000-000...never seen that before...Fake? Sorry I did not take a picture of it.

None of those bags shown on that Facebook page can be authenticated. All are just stock photos.

We've seen so many Facebook listings of fakes. Unless you know the person you're dealing with and know where they buy their bags, I'd use extreme caution.

Thaks for the info... But as much as the pictures shown, can you tell its authenticity by its code? Though all stitching are flawless

No, fake bags can have the "correct" code numbers. You can never trust them, just like you can't trust zippers or tags or receipts or anything else to prove a Coach is genuine. Why wouldn't fakes makers be able to use the correct codes and serial numbers? All they have to do is copy them from one genuine bag.

I can't comment on the bag, both because I don't know the bag but also, because the seller doesn't have enough pictures and most (if not all) the pictures are stolen from other sources.

The gallery (first) and second pictures are Coach's:
http://milled.com/Coach/jOWGT0Z6vNNW5q6E

The modeling pics are taken from google images and the other 2 pictures don't show enough to even know the style of the bag.

Her other (completed) listings either use stolen stock pictures or don't have enough images to authenticate either.
Thanks!

I know this has to be fake. I just wanted to share it. The styling looks a little like a Madison with the wrong kind of leather, the hangtag is similar to Sheridans, the inside zipper pull is reminiscent of Sonomas, the creed is a separate piece even though the bag is unlined. I wish I could read the creed - does it say Made in Korea?

Yes, and it looks like it has just a 5-number serial number without the "No" in front of it, which is always the sign of a Korean fake. It has a fake Madison turnlock too along with everything else you mentioned.

TXGAL8701 HAS BEEN DISCUSSED HERE BEFORE - PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. SHE HAS ALREADY MADE AT LEAST ONE tPF MEMBER'S LIFE MISERABLE AND NOW IS SELLING FAKES HERSELF, AS WELL AS FALSELY ACCUSING HONEST MEMBERS HERE OF DOING THE SAME.

Isn't is wonderful when karma returns for payback? And isn't is more fun when we're here to witness it.

......... off to report the Korean fake.

Did you happen to notice if it said "Made in Italy" on the creed? I'm just curious.
