When listings are obvious and confirmed fakes (really bad such as these), you don't need to post here.

Instead, post on the Hall of Shame thread where those listings are posted specifically with the purpose of getting them reported:

Could someone please authenticate this MFF Coach wallet?
From Goodwill yesterday...
Approx. 7.5”w x 4”h x 1.25”d closed. 7.5”w x 11.25”h open.
Another slim envelope thingy? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry I am not expert enough to authenticate, but may I just mention what a lovely wallet it is! Joodlz, you have the best luck with your "finds"!

I am unable to find any info on this purse...see pics please.

The interior is a solid brown with 2 multi function slip pockets, 1 pen slip pocket, one zip pocket with creed.

Woo hoo! I have three Sheridans turning vintage this year! My big year will be when all my 1997 bags become vintage. I have 10 of those!

Congrats...I've still not ever seen a Sheridan in person...what's up with that? Guess I have to keep looking :)

Thanks...the pics don't do it justice...it's a lovely seafoam green in person!

It looks fine.

I'm not sure it's a "slim envelope" because it has the third fold section. And I don't have a style number.

Good morning, if you could take a look at this bag, ladies, I appreciate it! I have no info about it besides the pictures as it's not an auction, but I hope they will suffice... and thanks, as always!

Speaking of fakes, I've been meaning to ask about fakes on Craigslist... Every time a see a counterfeit Coach there, I want to contact the seller and tell them this is not a real thing, because sometimes it looks like the person has had it for a while without knowing it... and they want as much money for the bag as the sellers of authentic purses. But at the same time, I have a feeling they'll tell me to get lost (which would probably the most polite version of what I'll hear), and there would be certain logic in that response. Any suggestions?

Many do tell you to get lost - and in much stronger terms! If you contact them, use a throwaway (aol, yahoo, hotmail) email address.

Craigslist does have a flagging function and you can flag fakes as "prohibited." Sometimes they'll remove listings if they get enough flags. You can also post those fakes on the "hall of shame" thread for additional reporting.

Oh, ok, thanks, BeenBurned, going to start now :-)

As for contacting sellers using a throwaway address, I don't think there's need for that: as far as I see, Craigslist has changed their contact system so that neither party can see the real email of the sender, only the coded one that looks like combination of digits and letters @sale.craigslist.org. It exists until the poster removes their ad. Unless people exchange their email addresses, there's no way to contact buyer/seller outside this system. Someone from Craigslist has finally thought about that huge privacy gap.
