Hello, could you please authenticate this bag? Item: tan leather bag. View attachment 2464027View attachment 2464028View attachment 2464029View attachment 2464031 The number is 0710 233. I would love to give measurements, but I don't have a ruler or anything. I have never bought a coach. I just happened to notice the stamp several months after buying this purse at a thrift store. Please help. Thanks!!!

It looks like a genuine Station Bag, style 5130 from the early 1990s.

Along with what's already been mentioned, there are other problems too. The patchwork pattern is close but not exact, there are stitching details that aren't right, and along with the totally fake serial number, both the inside patch and the lining are the wrong colors for bags in that style line - I own two of them and know them very well. The inside patch in the real ones isn't silver, BTW, it's off-white, and the lining should be a cocoa or taupe shade.

The front patch is really badly stamped and sewn and the stitching all over is wobbly and uneven. The hangtag is wrong too.

Contact the seller and demand a full refund, and do NOT buy from them again. If the seller refuses, contact your credit card company and have the charge removed. And please ask here BEFORE buying Coach bags, keychains or other items from online sites. Many of them are really havens for fakes sellers and have no buyer protection in place.

Thank You. Sadly, I purchased the purse on an auction site that uses credits so I'm waiting on the admin to decide whether I will get my credits back or not. I did learn to check here first before making a purchase.

Thank You for confirming what I already thought. The seller still states that it is real but it just can't be.

Feel free to refer the seller, lindamcgrawmcgraw here and if the admin have any doubts, they can read here too.

I'll repeat it again. There have been multiple attempts to help that site to be honest. It's totally understandable that the admin and mods aren't familiar with designer bags and accessories however, if they're willing to make the effort to run a legitimate website, there are people who are willing to help them and people who have tried to help them.

But by turning a blind eye and claiming ignorance, they will fail, buyers and sellers will be recommended against doing business there and word of mouth advertising can help or kill a business. In this case, it sure isn't helping them!

Genuine. I don't have a name for it.

Thanks!

You're welcome!

Best of all, it was $5 cheaper than the first one!

Can you look at the R&R club page! I need your opinion! Thanks

Sure!

The name is holiday patchwork demi!

Thanks, BeenBurned...I surmised it from ebay listings for same style #.

No wonder I didn't know it. It's too logical. ;)

LOL :)

I don't see any problems with it. The leather is supposed to be soft. There are wide variations in the softness and pebbling of the leather on different bags from this line.

In order to attach more than one photo, click on the paperclip icon at the top of the reply box (you might have to click on "go advanced" in order to see it.) A "Manage Attachments" box will pop up, with the option to attach 4 photos from your computer or 2 URLS. After you have selected your photos, click the "upload" button.
Thanks for providing the steps to post photos. I will try it now.

I am re-uploading all 4 photos in one post after a kind member guide me through the steps. I bought this Madison Phoebe Small Leather in black with light gold. Please help me to authenticate. Thanks!

What site is it? For my reference so I can use caution and stay a away:)

Hi, can someone take a look at this purse? Seller has tons of pictures but none of the creed. If this purse is from 1995 would it have a fabric lining? What little I can see of the creed looks like a much newer one, that sort of metallic patent leather. also, all her other Coach bags show pics of the creed. TIA

Bleeckers weren't even introduced until the beginning of 1999, so that alone tells me the bag is fake if she's right about the serial number. That "F" plant code is also questionable and so far I haven't seen it in any genuine mid-1990s bags, but I HAVE seen it in 1990s fakes.

There are other problems too including the stitching at the base of the straps. And the photo showing the lower right corner of the creed has some doubled-up stitches that are much too thick.

Do NOT buy that bag.

Listia . com is the site. They've become as untrustworthy as iOffer. We don't recommend ever buying anything from either site, since even though they're well aware of the number of fakes on the site, the site managers refuse to do anything to remove even obvious fakes. Whether or not their members get cheated is none of their concern. Even selling fakes for "credits" cheats the buyers, and is STILL illegal under US federal law.

Listia.

I posted before seeing that Hyacinth also commented.

Note that although they claim not to be "selling" but are giving items away for credits, those credits are, indeed currency and Listia is knowingly allowing the sale of fakes. And in fact, when buyers don't have enough credits to purchase, they can and do buy credits for real money.

ETA: Here's an example of the BS that their mods post. Someone commented that the bag is fake and even posted the Listia rules where fakes and authenticity disclaimers aren't allowed.

THen, one of their rocket scientist mods posted a recommendation to include more information so the seller of the fake can sell her fake bag for more!

Thanks for the heads up.
