It looks fine to me, made in 1995.

Thank you! I thought it looked ok, but patricias make me a teensy bit nervous as they seem to be faked a lot. Just wanted to double check.

And also wanted to say thanks again for all you do here. You and your colleagues really do a wonderful job. This thread is great to learn from as well. (or at least to start coveting new bags from ....)

Have a Happy New Years! :D

Interesting! Can you show me an example of the anchor thing you were talking about? I have never seen that! Thanks for the quick response! I never knew they did that! Do you need to see more pics? Also I posted something on R&R club for an opinion on, if you are over there
As far as we can tell, the anchor is a symbol that was used on the dogleash clips of basic bags made in New York City. I haven't seen it anywhere else, but I didn't even notice it until last week. You can see a picture of it here in the second picture of post # 8889: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-818914-593.html#post25902414

Joodlz has a belt that has a similar stamp as shown in the last picture of Post #5873 here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-818914-392.html#post25413362

I don't know if the anchor has some significance to the Coach brand or if it symbolizes something regarding the composition of the brass.

Nekolessa, have you looked at the back of the buckles to see if they're stamped "solid brass"?

This really doesn't mean anything, but the color, leather texture and stitching remind me of my fake rambler's legacy. The stamp on the hardware would just be one more thing to check.

Thanks ledobe but the hardware is nickel? So no stamp of solid brass....I'm bummed about what to do, I might ask seller for proof of authenticity.

That's actually why I asked, I've seen the brass stamp on nickel hardware. I just thought it might be one more clue to its authenticity if it was there.

It's a Soft Satchel, style number 4055 from the Lightweight line, made in the late 1980s. Here's Coach's description from their Fall 1989 catalog. Coach has never used the word "Speedy" to describe it.:

Yes, thank you Hyacinth...I printed this to go with the authentication of the wine colored Soft Satchel I bought last month. I love having as much paperwork as I can gather to keep with all my vintage bag purchases.

Don't know if this is clearer
Made in Costa Rica

I agree, it looks like a genuine Metropolis Zip.

Thank you for the authentication and the name! You are a great help! Do you by any ch ace know what year do you think it was made? Thanks
That bag was made in 1998.

Only 5.5 hours to go. Happy New Year everyone. Looking forward to a Coach-filled 2014!

Comment: this is stamped 'IRREGULAR' ? Your opinions valued as always.
It's a Hudson bag from the Lightweights collection. It is authentic. I've seen the Irregular stamp before. It isn't always apparent why it was considered irregular.

Item: vintage Sheridan?
Item no: 190995067870
Seller: thevintagecult

Comment: is this a Sheridan and is it authentic, please?
It's not a Sheridan. It's a Dakota, probably a Rider bag. It is probably authentic but it is impossible to tell for sure without seeing the interior and the creed. It would probably be impossible to clean ink off the suede lining.

Happy New Year!
