Hello lovely ladies! Long time no chat!

Please help me, this is not a auction so I am not using the format. E9N-9525

I just received this bag and it bothers me a little, the creed has an "n" plant code and I know that plant code is for Mexico, the year is 1999, which one would think would be transferred to Mexico as late as 1999. Lastly, and I know this means nothing but the nickel hardware. I have several stewardess bags and this one looks and feels like the real deal, but I am not sure and need your help.

Please look at the bottom inside pic also, the leather piece at the bottom of the stewardess, this looks right but then again.........

Stitching, hangtag etc. I'm just not sure. Thanks in advance and happy new year! View attachment 2445315View attachment 2445317View attachment 2445318View attachment 2445319

I've been looking at other bags with *9N- serial prefixes, and so far out of the first dozen or so, every single one has been made in Mexico, including the one posted below which also has an outlet mark (never 100 percent positive proof something's genuine but a lot more likely to be real when it's in older bags). There's also a full range of Mexico examples from the entire 1999 year, so I'm leaning toward counterfeit. I'm not familiar enough with Stewardess Bags to compare the other details though.

The silver hardware might not a problem, it was available with some of the classic leather colors through almost all of 1999. I don't have any dates for when or whether it was available with that particular color, do you know what color it actually is?
I have the same color combination in my Rambler's Legacy from 1998. However, I don't recall ever seeing a Stewardess with nickel hardware. I don't see any glaring errors in construction but I'm leaning towards fake because of the plant code/year combination. There is no way the N plant could have been in the US and Mexico at the same time.

Whenever I see a questionable item from a seller, I always check the seller's other listings. More often than not, another listing will be fake, and such is the case with Etsy's seller, AgisCuteCollections.

AgisCuteCollections also has this fake with a known invalid serial number:

It's evident that the seller doesn't verify that her items comply with federal trademark law!
Thanks ladies. I think I will pass on this one, and keep looking. I am looking for a red legacy bag with a longer strap. I want to share a longer strap with my 9085 duffle that came with a 36 inch strap. I love vintage coach, but it seems a lot of the bags came with short straps.

Hi - I hope you don't mind if I add my observation for what it's worth.
The E and the 9 are almost touching in the prefix on the stewardess bag you received, but on the photo that Hyacinth posted there is a much larger distance between those two characters. If they were supposedly done on the same machine in the same year/factory it would be unlikely, no?

A lot depends on whether or not the creed itself and the serial number were still being stamped separately, like they were in the vintage bags. It seems like the two parts were kept as individual processes until some time after the move to China but there's just not enough evidence to know for sure.

So theoretically a serial number stamp could have been used during a short period of time by two different plants, and we've even seen that happen. And some plants may have even had more than one serial number stamp and the two would have had different details, but I don't think the N plant was big enough to ever justify two stamps, unlike the D plant which seems to have used at least two different serial stamps during the same period.

Trying to figure out creeds and serial numbers is a sure way to give yourself a splitting headache - trust me on this. :graucho:

The tag is fake. The description is wrong. The style is a factory style and there is no F on the tag. It would not have come in that FP box. Is there a cloth tag inside the wristlet? Where did you get it?

Just purchased 2 coach online, wondering is it authentic or not, please help =(

Again the tag doesn't look right. The description isn't correct for the style. It isn't a foreign tag either. The wallet has brass hardware but the description says silver. There only appears to be one color for the leather but the description mentions red and coral.

I agree that something doesn't seem right here. The item is a wristlet, not a zip around accordian wallet, the font is incorrect, the text on the tag is wrong, the color code, CY is for cherry.

Although nothing screams fake with regard to the picture of the wristlet you've shown, I'm not familiar with the color (though they may have made it in that color). But the fact that it has a bogus tag with the "correct" style number and the incorrect box and packaging, I'm not confident that the wristlet is authentic.

I'd return it for a refund.

(I feel the same about the red wallet.)

Please post links to where you purchased these items.

Here's a comp of the fake vs. auth. tag.

That's the keyring. It should like the one in this listing (6th picture): http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Cream...192?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2587514118
Your bag looks fine from what I can see of it.
Interesting! Can you show me an example of the anchor thing you were talking about? I have never seen that! Thanks for the quick response! I never knew they did that! Do you need to see more pics? Also I posted something on R&R club for an opinion on, if you are over there
