I don't think it was sent to the outlet for a manufacturing error. I think those they marked with an X. I don't think you would notice the crooked padding unless you were looking for it. It might be exaggerated in the picture or it might have shifted during use. I have several bags made in the same factory and the quality of the leather is really nice. The red is a gorgeous color.
ETA: since the bags were handmade, there are likely to be variations. I have both a vintage bag and a new bag with crooked pockets.
Thank you so much for the information. I still can't believe I was the only one to bid on it. Last week I was bidding on almost the exact same bag and it went for $100 (not to me). Your remarks are reassuring. I think I will love it more for the little imperfection you showed me. Can't wait to have it in my hands!
Too many things wrong with this bag! I can't imagine they would have embossed the suede with the creed. The strap could have been replaced but the zipper pull too? It looks like there are some random seams on the pocket as well. The piping is a mess.
