I'm pretty sure they are authentic. I actually own both of these bags (in different colors). There are no problems with the Tribeca. This style isn't as popular with counterfeiters. The ergo is often counterfeited. Mine is very similar to yours. The seams on the bottom are at different places on mine (closer to the center). The reason I think yours is authentic is because the creed matches, even to the way the zero is slightly higher than the other letters and the overstamping marks.

The black one is authentic. It is called the compact pouch and is style number 9620. It is probably from the early 90's. The red one doesn't look authentic. I'm seeing a Q for the month code.

ETA: on second thought, I'm sure the red one isn't authentic. Not only is the Q not valid, in 1997, they weren't putting the Made in the United States along the bottom of the creed. And there is no chance that they reversed the order of the creed because Q wouldn't have been a valid US plant code.

Also, I was curious as to if the hang tag was authentic or not. I've tried to read up as much as I could regarding the hang tags and such and at the risk of sounding like a greenhorn, I read that it should have one side raw. Now I know that a lot of the guides can't be trusted and also that hang tag styles are so widely inconsistent even if they are authentic, but it threw me for a loop because the hang tag on this bag is smooth and stamped on both sides. Does this mean anything?

Coach has changed the design of the hangtag dozens of times in the last 30 years. Very few have a "raw" side although some older 2-piece ones sometimes came apart to leave 2 pieces with a stamp on one side and raw suede on the other. Newer hangtags have a stamped and a smooth side and are stitched together. Coach has also used metal and even plastic for hangtags so don't EVER take what some "guide" you found on the 'net told you as fact. Please read my Siggie under all my posts for a warning about so-called "guides".

The bag is genuine and the hangtag looks correct for that plant and year.
