Seller msapienza1015 did NOT have this bag authenticated by a reputable authenticator nor by someone who knows how to read Coach serial numbers.

It doesn't take an expert to figure out the the style number is incorrect for the bag and although a "correct" serial number doesn't prove authenticity, it can prove that a bag is counterfeit.

ETA: Please refer to post #1 of the thread for the information we need for authentication. The seller ID is helpful for buyers searching for listings or seller reputation. It's also help for authenticators to see if the seller has a history of selling fakes.

If you paid for the bag, request (or demand) a refund and refer the seller here.
As for Hyacinth's list of invalid serial numbers and possible fakes, it's virtually impossible to list them all. What she has posted are the more common ones, those that have been seen multiple times on fakes.

Another comment is that the seller seems to have a history of not honestly describing her items:

I didn't know about Toolhaus until TPF. I'll definitely use this in the future. The seller has agreed to the return. I've only had to return twice through eBay, and both times I had to open a case because the seller wouldn't respond. I'm not feeling very protected just sending the bag back and hoping I get a refund. Is this normally how returns are done?

That's why bidding on auctions ending in a few minutes is never a good idea. It doesn't give you enough time to even do something as basic as check out the style number or the seller's Toolhaus.org record. Any time you see a seller's Toolhaus record showing a history of "item was in much worse condition than described", hit the Back button.

And if you absolutely have to have one of those last-minute "finds", at least hold off on paying until you can have the item authenticated and the seller checked out here at tPF.

Believe me, I do know better. I usually do research and try to find like bags to compare.

I'm grateful for the authenticators here. Thanks as always!

Morning All,
Could someone take a look at this one. I have seen M and P at the end of the style # but never E. Anyone know anything about it? TIA.

I don't see any problems with it. More opinions are welcome. There has been some discussion about the E. I've seen it on a few bags at the outlet. This particular style was made for the outlet. Some people have seen the E on full price styles, but not necessarily at full-price stores.

Thanks Whateve! I was starting to think it might not even be an authentic style that had been ripped off, but it looked familiar. As soon as the bag arrived, I noticed the finishing details seemed sloppy, and your photo confirms all of them. The seller has agreed to take it back, although she had it authenticated. Of course now I really want a Carnival bag. Perfect size for my flea market outings.
You're welcome. The Carnival bag is really cute!

Thanks for the info, this is the first E I've seen and was curious.

Although it hasn't been confirmed, I've heard that E was a code for a department store exclusive for Dillards. I don't have Dillards in my area so I can't speak for the accuracy of it.

The Coaches are good and though you didn't ask, the Dooney is fine too. Tignello and VB aren't faked.
Thanks so much. Glad you could help me with the Dooney & Bourke as well. A related question- Is FOSSIL ever faked? Or are Fossils that I find usually the real thing? Thanks.

Could I get authentication for the two Coaches that were in this auction?

I would love any info on the bags like the name and line. Thanks so much

You're welcome.

I've never known Fossil to be faked. Others might know better.

And to clarify regarding the Vera Bradley -- VB isn't counterfeited, i.e., if you find a VB item with the VB name, it's genuine. However, the patterns are copied so there are similar bags in patterns, colors and styles resembling Vera Bradley but they're clearly made by different manufacturers and are legal designer inspired patterns.
