I purchase this British tan Court Bag on eBay from seller mandy09615 eBay item #221289114820 that I need another opinion on.
There is a clear picture if the Mexico creed H9N-9870 in the listing and everything looked ok, but when I received the bag I noticed a difference in the shape of the top piping around the pocket under the flap- it appears more rounded than any other court bag I've seen before. Is it possible the Mexico plant just made it a little differently? I have it pictured next to genuine black court bag to show the difference in shape.
Thanks!

I commented on this difference about a month ago. Both shapes are correct. I'm not sure when they changed, or if they changed some plants earlier than others. I have a 2001 court that has the same shape and I've seen it on other 1999 bags. I think the change happened right around 1999.

Thank you very much, sorry I missed the previous post about it.:smile1:

Could someone kindly take a look at this Court bag? It looks like the other Court bags I have seen, but I am unsure about the whitish/grayish color of the suede inside the inner zippered pocket. I feel like I can't say this enough, but many many thanks! *sends virtual brownies to everyone*

It looks fine. It is common to see that color inside the pocket. I love brownies!

Hello, I am new here so I apologize if this isn't in the right section. I went thrift shopping tonight and at the spur of the moment bought a coach bag they had in the glass display only available from behind the counter. I got it at a steal. Ive been doing some research and I'm pretty sure this bag was manufactured in November of 2005. Can you authenticate for me or at least tell me the style? the creed is L05Q-6718. It has the coach stamp with the horse and coach on the front, as well as coach is stamped on all the zipper fobs as I call them.

Sorry, BeenBurned, I was just commenting on the question of whether there was more than one stamp at the plant.

I agree, yours looks very different. I've seen a few similar stamps on creeds before - what I call the "big period" stamps, because when the creed gets that puffy, the punctuation looks huge - and have assumed they were NOT authentic, but I don't have any "D" plant examples.

The D plant while it was in the US was probably Coach's largest-volume plant. You'll find a LOT of D plant codes in bags from the mid to late 1990s, and according to the information gathered by more than one Coach expert, it's pretty well confirmed that the D plant stopped using the original "scars, scratches, veins and wrinkles" creed that said Made in the United States on the bottom and replaced it with the new "variations in the grain" creed during March and April of 1995. The new creeds that I've seen in handbags from the D plant all had the correct spacing.

The really "puffy"-looking creeds didn't even exist until Coach moved full-scale production to China and although there were genuine puffy creeds used by Chinese Coach plants for several years, that puffiness lasted a lot longer in fake bags than in any actually made by Coach. It's always a huge red flag when it's in a 1990s bag or any bag that says it was made in the US.

You need to get your money back.

If you post pictures we can tell you many of the things wrong with that bag, but just for starters NO Coach with a 2005 year code would EVER have had a Horse & Carriage emblem - that wasn't introduced until 2007. And Coach NEVER stamped their name on any of their zipper "fobs" from the 2000s, not until the Poppy line came out some time around 2010-11. The more times the word Coach is stamped on the hardware, the more likely it is that the bag is fake.

BTW, I don't think a GENUINE style number 6718 even exisits, I've never found a genuine Coach with that number. I may turn out to be wrong but either way your thrift purchase is definitely fake. You need to go back and insist on a refund if you paid more than 5 dollars for it.

Peanut Butter-Chocolate brownies???? (Sits up and begs with Big Puppy-Dog Eyes).

Looking further into it you are most likely correct that it is a fake as the CC pattern is both on the outside and the inside. Unfortunately I can not demand my money back, only take it in for a "credit" *sighs* Guess I'll chock it up as a lesson learned and put that money towards a Christmas tree instead.

You should point out to whoever sold it that it is illegal to sell counterfeits, and demand your money back.

It was a goodwill i honestly don't think they would care as they have a few "designer" purses in the display case, and it is my word against theres. :(

And I know that local authorities won't do anything as they can't verify whether a purse is authentic or not, so unless Coach steps in and confronts these thrift stores and presses charges against them, they will never be punished for breaking the law. A person can't call the police and independently verify a purse is counterfeit without the copyright owner.
