Comment: Hi, I won this and the seller has now provided a (blurry) pic of the creed. I'd appreciate your views on
its authenticity, please.

I wish you had asked before bidding. That bag is almost certainly fake.

-9924 is the wrong style number and only belongs to a Casino Bag. The J4D- prefix is often found in fakes and should always be authenticated before buying. The font of the serial number isn't right for that month, year and plant, and the top zipper pull is fake and would never have been used on that style. The ends of the inside pocket zipper should go all the way to the edges of the pocket. The clips on the strap are not the kind used by Coach.

See the first two pics below for a genuine Carousel Bag style 9942 and the inside pocket, compare the zipper and especially the stitching near the inside zipper with the fake you bid on. I think this is the listing for the same genuine Carousel Bag:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Authe...452?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item41767cb4b4

Below are also photos of a Casino Bag style 9924, and a genuine serial number with an H4D- prefix which would have been just a month before yours.

If you haven't paid for it yet, DON'T.

Thanks Hyacinth. I'm not having much luck at the moment. I will advise the seller. I have paid but she was holding off shipping until I OK'd it so I 'll get a refund.

Comments: Sorry, another keychain. I also think this one is good but just wanted to make sure. She has two for sale and does not have the best feedback in the world. Thanks!

Edit: just realized she has two fakes up as well. I might avoid her.

It's authentic. You are correct in that the other 2 are fake. Seller dnsyf09 mixes authentic and fake.

ETA: in addition to the 2 current fake keychains, she also sold this fake.

I don't recommend dnsyf09

I'm sure J8Y prefix is on a naughtly list but I couldn't find it. I have other concerns beyond that as well... but I'd like a 2nd opinion...Could you please take a look at this?

The padding on the turnlock doesn't seem to be the right shape. The shape of the pad under the turnlock might be slightly off too.

And it had that 3d back plate on the turn lock that I see on fakes. Do you show this prefix on any naughty lists?

Yes it is on the list as being well-copied fakes. I didn't see a picture of the back of the turnlock.

J8Y- is mentioned in Daria48's Fake Numbers list. My own list purposely left the possibilities open since so many "J" prefix bags seem to have problems.
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Fake-Coach-Serial-Numbers-NT-4903-and-more-/10000000002744619/g.html
The prefix alone isn't enough to prove something's fake, it's just a warning to look at the bag really carefully. The shape of the turnlock pad and the covering over the back of the turnlock are pretty hard to ignore as major red flags though.

It may even turn out that ALL J8Y- bags are fake - we need to see a lot more before we decide. Most of them are almost identical to what they're supposed to look like. For instance, here was a City Bag that seemed to be ok, until the shape of the flap was compared to other City Bags. But you'd still want to see it in person and compare it to a known genuine 9790 just to be sure.

I apologize for bringing this back up, but when I saw that navy Willis, I knew it was familiar.

In fact, the seller, 3538scooby already sold that bag previously. The bag was sold here on Sept. 11:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The first buyer came to the ebay boards with it, learned it was fake, returned it to the seller and left "honest seller" positive feedback.

Well, the "honest seller," even if she didn't know the first time that it's fake, now knowing that it's fake, relisted it, as posted by TetonDeb.

And that's not the only fake 3538scooby sold.

This backpack (pictures attached in case it is removed) has a 9927 style number!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-V...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I wouldn't recommend 3538scooby.

Good Evening-
Can someone have a look at this purse set and let me know if it is indeed authentic or faux as I am thinking :) THX in advance!

Item: Coach Signature 'C' Hobo Shoulder bag with matching wallet

***Note *** L1182-1033 - although this supposed creed # is not in the title, they have posted it in the body of listing.

Listing number: 131001467978
Seller: myklftw
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131001467978#ht_235wt_917

Comments: The only reason I even came accross this set is because I just about bid on it, but that familiar voice that says is this too good to be true?? said to myself...why is this set so cheap when it looks brand new and every other bag in this similar style and print on Ebay is much much more expensive? Well, as I started to look at it and check the creed #, it is definately not a Coach bag creed, and even more definately not this bag. The seller has disclosed the creed on this bag right in the auction. But they have presented the creed pic itself as blurry making it impossible to see the font, stitching, etc. This is about the 3 or 4th time it has gone up for auction. I wanted to get a second opinion before I report the item.

THX again for any help you can give! I did copy the pic and try to enhance it to see if maybe they left a number out by of the creed by accident and what I can tell is that there are no more than 4 numbers on the right side although you cannot make them out-the seller has stated the number (which I put above) in the body of their listing.

Without a better picture of the creed, it's impossible to authenticate it. You can't authenticate based on the serial number being copied (as text) because the seller might have copied wrong, left off a digit, etc.

If you are interested, email the seller and ask her to pull out the lining to get a better straight-on and clear picture of the full creed.

Ok tomorrow I will ask if they can post it, and Ill be back if I get the info. Thx so much.
