Thanks @BeenBurned (as I pick my heart back up from the floor). This is good to know about the seller, I'll try to be patient and keep looking :)
You certainly can decide whether you want to deal with either of those sellers but it's helpful to know when there's a history.

Hi does this look authentic? And would you know the name? I won it but have not paid. Brand new seller

Thanks for your knowledge!!!!

Thanks for your expertise!!

DON'T PAY !!!

That's a COMPLETE fake. The serial number is too short and is on both mine and Daria48's Fake Serial Numbers list, and the entire style is fake and NEVER made by Coach.

Hope the other posters will help in reporting it.

ALWAYS check either my Fake Serial Numbers list here,

I'm not sure why you're not satisfied with the description. Those styles were called Clip Hobos so this one is a Suede Clip Hobo, and the clip is the one Coach used for the "Clip" bags.

Excellent. I asked about the description because I had looked at several and everybody was giving it a different name. I knew you would know the right one. Looks like the seller did too. Thanks so much.

Could you post a link to the listing? this style has been faked a lot, but the creed might be okay. Nickel hardware wasn't introduced until 1997 so the creed is a little early for a nickel hardware bag. Coach was making bags in the US into the 2000s.

Here is what I THINK is the link to the bag. Please bear with me if I use an incorrect format. Just now trying to learn & still a fledgling :smile1:

I don't think it's worth taking the risk with sellers, but I don't know. That bag from 53bigbooka is looking real good but I'm trying really hard to look away..... lol.

The link doesn't work. I looked up the item number in the last part of your link.

I don't think that is the same bag you were asking about.

Oh! I told you I was a 'greenie' LOL:D I will try the eBAay item number thing again.I was actually interested in the Willis as well as they share so many similarities ..I will
try to figure out the correct way to send the links. Thanks!

Wasn't that the bag you and Hyacinth commented on here?

I believe that if it weren't authentic, she would have told you so.

ETA: Then again, maybe she was just responding to the "made in" question. I just realized you didn't show the listing or the full bag.

Yeah I wasn't sure, but I think you're right, if it wasn't she would've said something so I think this one *might* be okay. I think this one might be easier than the others to rehab too

I'm still looking for a classic city bag and wondering about authenticity again:

item: COACH Classic Black Leather CITY Messenger Flap Shoulder Crossbody BAG Purse 9790

seller: grandmafliesabroom

link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/109841470/coach-classic-black-leather-city?ref=favs_view_2

item: Coach City Cross Body Bag // Courier Black Leather

seller: pearlsvintage

link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/160371557/coach-city-cross-body-bag-courier-black?ref=favs_view_1

on the second bag, one side of the leather looks smoother than the other. is this typical and very noticeable in real life?

They both look authentic. The second one isn't in very good shape for its age. I don't know how much of that wrinkling would improve with a bath and conditioning. I don't think it is typical. I don't see it on any of my bags from from the 90's or early 2000's.
