Thanks, Hyacinth.

Yep, that's exactly what I thought, but the seller was just so EARNEST in his/her explanation :giggles:

Yes, good for a giggle. Sometimes you just have to wonder how folks come up with this stuff.

Thanks again.

And she's also publicly accusing the "other" seller of a perfectly genuine 3677 of selling a fake! She's lucky that seller didn't spot the listing and report her arse to Ebay.
"There is a ( imposter bag ) on E-Bay boasting this same #3677 EXCEPT that one is made in China. Man its getting bad with them with all the knock offs and now even stealing the numbers off bags."

DO NOT BUY FROM " dkandcompany " !!!

Looks like the seller ended the listing. I wonder if he/she is on TPF or if someone warned him/her?

I just wanted to add that I did not find the seller's accusation funny at all - nor the fact that he/she was trying to pass off a counterfeit bag. It was the lengthy, creative explanation that I found funny. Maybe that seller should be writing fiction instead of trying to sell on eBay.

For sure. You have to wonder if any of these sellers who are staunchly defending their fake or badly abused bags have ever actually seen a real Coach. Like the seller whose genuine bag looked like it was painted with a color and a brush left over from the last time they painted their garage.

There's a big fiction or fanfiction writing challenge that happens every November - maybe they're practicing their storytelling skills?

+1 I have no patience for sellers who have no idea what they are talking about making up :hs: about their listings to lure in unsuspecting buyers who think they are getting some amazing deal.

I give pretty wide latitude for "vintage" but when sellers say a bag is "rare" when it isn't, state a bag is a Bonnie Cashin or that the bag is from a particular timeframe and it isn't true - I have to assume one of two things: (1) the seller knows these things aren't true and is willing to mislead buyers to make a sale or (2) the seller doesn't know and is willing to mislead buyers to make a sale. This goes double for sellers who insist a fake bag is 100% authentic.

Accusing another seller of selling a fake in your listing is about as unethical as I can imagine. Definitely avoid seller dkandcompany at all costs.

AND NOW ELIZABETH B Has bad feedback from this woman! She should have ebay remove it!!! not fair at all!

If she can reply to the Fb she should just say "Purse was painted, SNAD, PM me for details & photos". I did something like that once and had about half a dozen people contact me for more details.

More opinions?

If it were the original feedback from the seller to the buyer, eBay would remove it. Sellers aren't allowed to say negative things in that part of the feedback.

Since it's the reply to a feedback that has the disparaging remarks, I doubt eBay would delete it.

Yes, I think the buyer should add a reply-to-the-reply. Think it through carefully first, however, so whatever is said has the maximum impact.

Yes, I have a much better suggestion!

Since sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers and since contradictory feedback is an ebay no-no, Elizabeth can call ebay, get the feedback removed and the seller's account will get another ding for improper use of feedback!

ETA: I just went back to boobacakes's feedback. Actually, the seller had already left positive feedback with a positive message for the buyer. Her additional comments probably won't be considered improper since they aren't really negative. However, the buyer can certainly reply that that comment with "the bag was painted as shown on TPF."

This is all very interesting. It takes all kinds to make the world go ground; but for a person to blatantly misrepresent their merchandise is atrocious. The terrible paint job would be discovered by ANYONE who purchased that bag. I honestly cannot understand how any Seller would remotely believe a Buyer would find the condition of that bag as acceptable. H*ll.....there was even paint on the hardware!

As for feedback, mine remains at 100% and I don't sell under that ID. Nevertheless, I will reply to her comments; but need to cool down a bit beforehand. I want to thank each of you who have offered suggestions. I appreciate this community and all those who participate. I have always loved early Coach and find great pleasure in the hunt to find the next treasure. This community is THE BEST :ty:
