BeenBurned, SillyMillyPup just identified my mystery bag as a Parker Exotics Small Flap Bag; see the pics at the link below. :happydance:

The photo of Eva Longoria carrying the bag was taken on July 26, 2009.

I have a question for you. I have been reading that Coach NEVER EVER uses genuine, exotic skins and that all of their croc and snake bags are embossed print leather bags.

I know that is true in general, but they have made some bags out of genuine exotic skins, right?

The creed on my new bag says that it is made of "genuine snake" so I figure that means that it is real snakeskin, is that wrong?
They absolutely have used exotic skins, as evidenced by your bag (and its creed indicating snakeskin) and the 6A10 wallet I'd referred to that I had.

Here's a current listing for the exotics wallet (NMA).

And this picture from a recently ended listing (May, 2013) clearly shows the tag stating that it's snake skin.

Thank you so much, I am so excited to own a real exotic bag! SillyMilliePup found some more great information. The bag was part of the Resort Collection and was released in March 2009.

She shared the article at the link below which previews the collection and calls it a Parker Shoulder Flap. It states that it came in both karung and python snakeskin and the retail price was $1100! :yahoo:

The picture my bag is slightly different from the final version, the prototype doesn't have the fancy beaded strap.

That bag is not authentic. The zipper is incorrect, the strap is not finished correctly where is meets the ring on the bag and I believe it should have the Coach lozenge lining. The stitching is messy as well. I'll let others comment on the creed/serial number.

Not only wouldn't any genuine Bleecker have a combination of silver and gold-colored hardware, but the top zippers on all the Bleeckers were nylon, not brass, and were the same color as the leather.

A search of Ebay shows the only one that doesn't fit that pattern, and it's another fake with a J8P- serial number, a brass zipper, more bad stitching and an invalid plant code - feel free to report it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-V...000?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2c655f85c0

Late 1990s Bleeckers are highly-faked and should always be authenticated.

VERY fake, don't waste your mpney. The word "craftsmanship" shouldn't be broken up between two lines and certainly NOT with a period . at the end of the first half - basic English-American Rules of grammar. And there isn't even a serial number, among other problems.

PLEASE REPORT.

Good grief! This is the first time I've ever seen that style of bag with a fake Coach label. It's one of the counterfeiters favorite styles in fake Kate Spades!
Thanks so much. I didn't think it could be authentic Coach, but when BB mentioned fake KATE SPADE, I had an aha moment - as in AHA, SO THAT'S WHERE I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE!

As I said, adorable for a little girl, but, alas, fake...

Thanks again!

The "Scribble" description is from the way the Cs are "drawn" as if someone just took a crayon and colored in an outlined C with just a few swipes of the crayon, leaving streaks of color and gaps without any color. Obviously it's easier to see on the Multicolor versions.

Most Scribbles, at least the mid-2000s styles, were all called "Hamptons Weekend Scribble..." followed by the style of the bag. I don't have a confirmed name for the one in that post but it's an updated version of a 2005 style - the style numbers were changed starting in mid-2006 when Coach switched to 5-digit style numbers since the original style only has a 3-digit style number. Yours is the "standard", i.e. Medium size, there were also Small and Large versions.

The one in the post is an updated/Factory Store version of style 247, Hamptons Weekend Scribble Tote. Here's a pic of the earlier version as well as a smaller tote style # 203 showing Coach's official name.

And that's probably a lot more than you ever wanted to know about Scribbles! :D

Thanks so much for the Illustrated Scribble Tutorial...perfect reading with my morning coffee!

I have a Soho Bag that I believe is genuine, but I want to be sure about it because I have never come across a pre-style # creed made in Italy that wasn't dakota/sheridan creed.
Thanks for your help:)

It's not a problem, we've seen Italian-made Soho bags before. If this one is about 17x15 inches it's probably "the" Soho Bag, style 4082 from around 1993.

Hello all. This is my first post and hopefully I am not resurrecting an old thread. I wish I discovered this forum before I bought but this is what I have:

British Tan Coach 0729
http://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/151317086/vintage-coach-british-tan-leather-cross?ref=col_view

camel Coach 9060 - worried about this one, Coach creed is slightly off-center on inside pocket
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/200918105302

Navy coach 4141 - may have been polished
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/321104584168

The navy one is too small for my needs and I am trying to resell it, is this a problem? I do not want to be a problem seller for another buyer. I already gave positive feedback to the sellers but I could take things up in paypal disputes if they are problematic bags.

Thank you for your help in advance. Especially looking forward to hearing from Hyacinth.

Hey, I'm not greedy - any qualified authenticator who knows the answers is always welcome to post. And there are some styles and time periods when it's much better to let someone who's more experienced give their opinion.

1- genuine Scout Bag style 9890 from 1991-92
2- it's hard to see just how off-center the creed actually is from those photos. It's probably genuine but a better and wider-view pic of the creed would help
3- looks like a genuine Soho Rivington Bag. Like Whateve said, always mention if a bag's been re-dyed or has any kind of polish on it.

Hello again.

Here are some pics of the camel 9060 bag with the off-center and lightly imprinted creed. The serial number is F8D-9060, I think it is made in the United States.

http://s1281.photobucket.com/user/roseefrugal/media/IMG_0605_zpsdf3a24b2.jpg.html

Any concerns to note?

I hope I am not bothering by re-quoting this post. I have 2 pics of the creed on the second bag (9060 in camel). The creed is very hard to read because it is lightly imprinted. Is that still ok? You have already said the serial number seems to check out. Is it possible that counterfeiters sometimes use legit serial numbers on fakes? Still learning. Thank you all for your help. I am very impressed with this service.

Counterfeiters CONSTANTLY use legitimate serial numbers on fakes. That's why just posting what the number is, is useless unless we can actually see photos of the bag AND the creed stamp and serial number. We're looking at a lot more than just the number. If you read some of the analyses we've posted here of questionable creeds and numbers you'll get a rough idea of just how many red flags there can be in just a few square inches of stamped leather. That's why inexperienced buyers need to have an expert look at clear photos of the bags.

Never ever think that just because the number seems valid, that means the item is real - like one of the Salearea Guides points out, it would be a pretty stupid counterfeiter who made fake 100-dollar bills and then put a picture of Bozo The Clown on them. And most professional criminals aren't quite that stupid.

I recommend that you read and Save these Guides and refer to them often:
